BMW Sauber car confirmed!

i hope the devs have equipped the car with some serious traction control
i always found it hard to start with the fo8! and this thing is even stronger!
Now my last post concerning the BMW-Drivers topic... here where I live most people that own a BMW:
- either have to drive to work more then 70 km on the autobahn.
- they just want a car, that is not an Audi or Mercedes (because they want no fwd or awd or an old mens' benz) but one that is reliable, sporty, fun to drive and somehow reasonable. gas is very expensive here, so many ppl are forced to drive diesels...

hmmm gotta say AMEN now, my blood pressure rises...
how many HP are we talking about? 850HP?
Somewhere between 750 and 800 depending on how honest BMW have been. But I think it'll be 'easier' to get off the line with the improved tyres. Remember we didn't get the LX8 because it was too crazy, so they must be fairly confident we'll be able to drive this...

Can't wait to try it on a Cyberseat
er.. michelin?

wtf is going on here, lfs isnt about fake companies anymore :/

edit - wait wait wait..... er.. we're gonna get new wheels on this thing right? they are the same wheels as the FV8's

ALSO.. the front suspension er.. rear too, those should be carbon fiber also

and.. finally, surely this isnt hte last model, i see eric doesnt have an underside (or atleast some polys arent 2 sided)

lol another thing.. man.. first thing im gonna do here is fix that carbon fiber texture :/ doesnt look to good
720 to 740 hp revving anything up to 22,000rpm, but mostly 18,000 redline. 2.4 litre v8 weighing about 100kg.... pretty insane stuff, I'm curious about the traction control, and the electronic differentials and various things you use to keep an F1 car on the road these days, how they will be represented in LFS.... they've put all the switches on the wheel for the various diff and trac settings.... but you saw what happened when Montoya or whoever it was switched his traction off on the parade lap and span out, how embaressing.

yeah, i guess if you have an official bmw sauber f1 car you need official tires, these tires will probably be only available on the bf1 and the made up tire names on the rest of the cars, in the cmx viewer it has michelins only on the bf1 and cromo tires in the other race cars....

cant wait till we get more info from the devs on the partnership and other info...

friday cant come soon enough
oh one last thing, i havent been into F1 to much this year, but.. can someone please explain to me what those 2 holes on the sides are just behind the top inlet?

Is it only me that for the first time I feel a Sauber is kinda cool afterall.
i still find villneuve is one of the worst worldchampions of the last 20 years.

I think you've got the weight wrong there When I raced karts, me and the kart had to weigh 160kgs F1 is 600kgs with driver if I remember rightly

(specially the part around the drivers head and the big side air inlets...)

Nice. I'm gonna have a go at it now. What else is there to do for 3 days ?
^^ He's talking about the engine weight. I think it should be less than 100kg, think the 3 litre Cosworths were 88kg.
OH, I think I may be the odd one out. I think I must be the only one here or even on the planet who is dissapointed with the fact we are getting this car. Don't get me wrong, I adore F1. I have been since 1980 and go to a different GP every year and have every race on video from the mid eighties but an F1 car just seems wrong. If this was an F1 game then yeah great as the devs would do an awsome job but I just think its out of place. If they wanted BMW then I would had sooner seen an M3 GTR or a 2002 Turbo. That would of rocked. I was hoping more for a really cool 4wd rally car.

I am not ungrateful, I just think I must be the only one alive who is not excited about this car.

Oh well, I must be mad.
I think it's a great inclusion, especially if they've sorted the tyres out But it doesn't mean a rally car wouldn't have been just that teensy bit cooler
I like the idea of couple more Aston configs though

I agree. Definately not as good as Schumacher, Hakkinen, Senna, Prost, Mansell... however I think he's better than what Damon Hill ever was. Hill was useless. illepall

Fernando Alonso wouldn't be a fair comparison since he's so young. But he's on his way to being the youngest Double World Champion ever it seems...
I thought there was a rule where engines had to weigh at least 90kg? Maybe im thinking of another series.

I don't really have a clue what I'm talking about but I have this notion of 88 kg. Of course it depends what you count as the engine.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but...

All those worrying about oval racing deteriorating even further need not worry about the Michelin-shod BF1 causing more crashes and noobs. Just think back to Indianapolis.

Causing more noobs?
