to all the people not finding the old versions for download anymore: just follow my link on the first site of this tread and you´ll find the lfs download archives.
seems they messed up the main lfs page with todays updates so there´s no direct link found on the site anymore, though the contents are still there.

ok this old version of the game, its cool but how do i get the view so its not so close to the wheel?

@space: in this version of lfs there are only four views: wheels, in car, following car and tv camera. the wheel view is adjustable in menue - view- field of view... take something around or above 100 to beginn with and look if it suits you. not much further modifications possible i think.

i was running in windows but tried both

the question was directed at molocco ... according to the readme the game pretty much stops doing anything when you alt tab out of it
the ones who were on my server yesterday will remember timing out more than once while i did set up my ftp

there seems to be no server online at the moment, and i think people had problems to join if i was hosting. yesterday it finally worked as shotglass hosted, dunno if he has time today...
