Adobe Premiere vs. Sony Vegas or anything else?
Hello peep,

I have big plans in video making. Also i have all required stuff at this moment as miniDV camcorder and other things.
As we enjoy inline skating, we are going to make Freeskate, Aggressive inline and other videos, maybe also Freestyle Skiing videos, if i will go for this extreme sport also, because i'm in love of it. Also this info could be great for LFS video making. But at first i have on question.

What video editing software is best? Adobe Premiere, Sony vegas or anything else for this kind of projects?
If you got money, the Avid system is the king of the hill.

If you have some money, Final Cut (Mac), Vegas and Premier are all good options. Try demos and see which workflow feels best for you.

If you haven't got any money, Imovie and Windows Movie Maker are free.
I tried Premiere and Vegas, I would say interface of Vegas just felt easier. For a noob like me. Alough I've never used Adobe Photoshop so maybe that was one reason.
I have used all three of them.

Easiest is Vegas following by avid, premier is just hard..
most handy I think Vegas is for effects and stuff but that's just what I think.

Premier is just hard on everything at the beginning but after awhile u get it and it turns really nice actually.

Avid is just the most professional of them imo.

I use premier because I got all of the adobe software's from school for free
I use Premier Pro, was very hard to learn what to do, what button does what and the like. When used in combination with After Effects it becomes one of the most professional looking thing the normal person can make.

I tried Vegas 7 (I think it was 7) and deleted it after about 30 minutes, was rubbish.

Each to their own!
Premiere, if you know where to get the SFX plugins
I'd say After Effects is an essential tool to learn, on top of your chosen editor.
Which is hilarious S14, in order I'd take Vegas -> Final Cut Pro -> Premiere (FCP and Premiere are basically EXACTLY the same, however there are a few neat tricks that FCP does that Premiere doesn't) and never touched Avid before. After Effects just scares me... :hide:
Lol

Some people prefer Vegas.. maybe I should have spent the time with that, like I did with Prem Pro. Meh.
I like Vegas mostly becuase it's easier to use.. you don't need to have like a PhD to use it, it makes more sense for making movies than FCP or Premiere did to me.
Dudes, thanks for great response and clear information.
Both, Premier and Vegas. There's good things in each, such as the simple tracks and effects to find in Premier, but there's a few good options in Vegas. Though Vegas seems somehow complicated, there are good options (croping, multi-image, more effects) (basic mode) (that I don't know if they are in Premiere, haven't found them). But then again. I usually use Vegas.
