The MRT is based on a real car, so slapping bigger mirrors on it wouldn't be realistic either. Not that you would see the oncoming traffic from your mirrors anyway

Race cars, and even road super cars, usually have very small mirrors. The exception to this would be to do a drive by slapping on a Harley Davidson rider - then you'd see a vehicle with big mirrors racing...
