Install problems
Well, I have just downloaded LFS, and I am raring to go. Just one problem; I can't figure out this irritating install system. Or the lack thereof. Well, enough rambling. I don't know where to put the files I've just un-zipped, nor do I get the CFG and the DEB text file things. Help me, please.

Extract LFS somewhere. If you don't know where it's gone then either run a search for LFS.exe, or re-extract it again. Don't touch the cfg files manually. Just run LFS.exe. LFS will then be running.

All you have to do is download the 7Zip thing. Open it, extract the game to a location of your choice, Then you just need to double click on LFS.exe and enjoy.

Ignore the CFG and DEB files - put LFS where you want it and run LFS.exe.

Simple.
hopefully the above comments have helped you, if not

what you need to do is create a folder on the computer, possibly the c:\, call it lfs for example,

then when you run the installer, use the browses button to locate that folder and extract it there. By default it extracts it to a temp folder, which by default in xp, vista etc is hidden :-)
Well, now that that's solved, here's an additional two problems.

1.) When I click on LFS.exe, it will more often than not give me an error message: "Could not write to data folder, is LFS correctly installed on a hard drive?" It has only worked once.

2.) in the rare occasion that it does work, when I enter a race, the controls act like they're sticky. I let off the throttle and turn the wheel, but the car charges on ahead as if I did nothing.

1 - What OS are you using? If your using Vista (and are running in a non-admin account or have UAC enabled) then you may need to move the LFS folder to program files (a Vista issue, not an LFS issue)

2 - What controller are you using?
Just make a dedicated LFS folder and extract it all in there. It shouldn't be so complicated.

And if it doesn't work, then i really don't know. Its as simple as making a folder and extracting it.

I'm sure it's you.

Navigate to C:/Program Files or whatever.

Create a folder called "LFS".

Open the extractable that you downloaded, and extract all of the contents to C:/Program Files or whatever.

Then run LFS.. if it's still not working, are you using an administrators account (i.e trying to install a program on a restricted user account?), if not, that could be the problem.
For the first one, I am using WinXP tablet edition, and I am on the system admin. And I have made a folder in C:/, and it's still being arbirtary and annoying.

For the second, any controller I use, be it a mouse, key board, or wheel, they all jam.
