They would adapt, like most athletes would do I'm sure. Especially considering the hand/eye coordination's they both have they would do ok, equally I can think of a few footballers who wouldn't look out of place on the Grid Iron.

...you can see some soccer players would adapt to American sports quite well, especially Ice Hockey.
