Hello,

I think a good idea would to have signatures on the forum, it could be for a team sponsor, advertisement etc.

Please post if you think its necessary or not.

Thanks
Signatures are currently enabled? You cannot place regular images in signatures though, they are essentially text only. Which is how it should be IMO.

Yarp.

Otherwise you get most of the screen taken up by signature pictures and they take time and bandwidth to load.

Looks like some other people thought the same and actually enabled them.

I think it'd make the forum more 'personalised' by allowing users to have either the current allocation of words, or a small picture of up to, say, 100 high and 400 wide, and say 750kb in size..

Of course, any explicit content would be quickly reported and that user will have his rights to have custom images in signatures removed, as well as a vacation from the forums
Maybe add an option that's enabled by default that disables the loading of images in signatures for people on slow connection/pc? (show the link only, so he can view it in a separate window/tab)
What about keeping the current rules, possibly restricting user bars to specifications that they are not distracting.
This is what i was thinking:

How about you make it so the canvas of the signature can only be 500x150 and also only allow 1 signature like this per profile.

By doing this, people would be happy and the posts are nice and tidy

Not really because everyone would have that size sig and it would make the thread about twice the size.

Don't want banner sigs at all. Totally pointless and annoying.
well no not really, there small, and the thread would look more interesting!
You can use big text size text on your signature what has link in it.
No need for pictures.
Already sugested before , and i want it

Already sugested the forum hass by default "Not Showing" images as signatures, but you can turn of that option , but mod dont want that
Because it takes a lot bandwidth and the pages would be 2x longer as said before. Mods must see them though, to check if there's something wrong in them etc...

What do signatures have to do with a thread?

And it wouldn't be "more interesting", it would just destroy the flow of the thread. I don't want to look at 5 pictures between every bit of text.
Look at the bottom of our posts, see all the empty space? That could be the size of the signatures.

Couldn't say better ...
Actually there's only white space if you have an avatar and fill in all your profile information. So why not just remove all that to cure the whitespace issue? I can only speak for myself, but I'd be in a dilemma if these were allowed, as I'd really want to turn them off, but as a moderator I'd have to have them enabled so I can moderate them. And I so want extra work to do here (admittedly troublesome avatars are very rare).

Avatars in Jpg or bmp or tga or gif , Consume Bandwidth, LET¨S remobe then too

Or we can have a Text format for the forum too

Sorry...
I oppose, because, while avatares serve the same purpose as signatures, meaning being anle to quickly identify the poster without having to read the name, they don't break the thread up like larger signatures do.

We can add a max size for that

Bob said it. Only if you have an avatar and your profile information filled in, you'll create empty space.

And besides, even when everybody has empty space underneath their posts, I'd still rather see nothing in between posts than annoying signature banners.
a definite no.
firstly, 500x150 is not a small signature.
secondly, the threads are long, there are heaps of users, and I personally don't want a huge increase of needed bandwidth. I guess I'm not the only one If I say that I want the forums to still be readable.

The current signature rules are just about right for this forum.
There's already some users here that have multi-line quotes AND multiple quotes as signatures, which IMO is abuse of the privilage. They usually only post short 1 liner smart-arsed remarks to which are smaller than their signature anyway, which is nice :/

And I never get to say this in other threads because it would be off topic so I will vent it here.....

Quote :Jeezus man your signature is stupidly long and pointless. You cloggin up the forums. Fix your sig please.
