Ralf Schumacher steps up to new Mercedes in DTM

Good luck to him, if he blows this year, he might never get a chance again.
By blows I mean if he doesn't claim a win, or at least get a few podiums, witch is going to be hard to get tbh. (or at least one podium )

Got to put a comment on this too:
"In my opinion, the DTM is the best touring car series in the world. Here we fight hard for every metre and every tenth of a second."
No way, V8 Australia is the best. DTM just looks fancy, but no passes whatsoever, still got to love it thought.
somehow i see it happening lol

as for the dtms being good racing, there ok, the best bit about goign and watching them is the noise especially the audis
good for him
schumacher's back in action!

Seems that was a rather bad try then. Of course I know him, but for me he stood and always will stand in the shadow of his brother.

That's for sure, but he did some nice results.

For example Barrichello will also always be in shadow of Schumi, but he drove the same car as Schumi and showed worse pace.
On other hand Ralf drove for other team, yet on worse pace then Schumi, but he won him few times. To have 6 GP wins is a great result.
He completly failed last year in DTM
so will be the next year.
This guy is totally overrated imo
they just took him because of the name and publicity.

I am afraid that is true. And he probably lost some skills due aging
Damn, I thought it's Michael! Huh... good to know it's "only" Ralf.

Ahh...i miss those seasons
Audi palming the bad drivers to Mercedes. Although, now Audi have a wrecker against them.. :P Rather than FOR them. I only ever saw Ralf in the last 10 in any DTM race I watched. Poor really, although honestly no match for Di Resta, Schneider, Scheider, Kristensen, Ekström, Tomczyk and even Olly Jarvis.

That about says it all. Ralf showed promise early on in his career but it all just fizzled out around about the Williams years then went downhill from there.

That is if you believe the same amount of time, effort and money went into making sure Barichello's car was as good as Schumis, which I for one don't.

They had a push-to-kill button for Rubens. I honestly believe that.

For me you seem like a person who is judging an F1 driver based on the results of his brother. Or you think it is a fair comparison to compare any driver with the driver who achieved the most in F1!? I think you are incapable of unbiased observations.

I agree but with not the overrated part. So he did bad in DTM - so what. It's not like Mika or Alesi or HHF destroyed everyone in DTM. And its not like he didn't give JPM, Hill and Trulli a good run for their money in F1. Lets not compare apples with oranges please.
The german newspaper "Bild" (www.bild.de) has released the images of Schummy's bail during an amateur motorcycling race. However, he didn't suffer any injuries and was out of the hospital in the same day.

(I couldn't take teh news because of a blackout.

I'm not comparing apples and oranges, it's my opinion.
I never really found him special as he never really (or maybe one or two times) showed something special in F1 or was an outstanding driver or a special character or personality for me.

He had his moments (over 2 or 3 seasons) when he drove the BMW Williams but you could have placed almost any other F1 driver into that car at that time to get good results.
6 F1 wins in 11 years and 180 races - so what

He also completly failed (for me) in the last 3 years when he was at Toyota even he was one of the best payed drivers. I always wondered for what they payed him so much.

If you see Ralf differently then me, it's ok.
There's no accounting for taste.

When I look at what other rookies did in a last years car in DTM then he completly failed there. But now he gets an actual new car.
Well let's wait and see but I would really be more then surprised if any thing good will come out of this.
BBO, don't worry, I think the general population of the world also thinks Ralf Schumacher sucks.

My dog thinks Ralf sucks, scratch that, my dog knows Ralf sucks.
