Luckily my girlfriend hates it as much as I do, she still forced me to get her a card though... £1.75 isn't bad considering one of my friends spent £35 on his girlfriend, I've got off very lightly.

I just have her birthday to contend with next week now.

This day never meant much to me, its just another commercial day...why should it take Valentine's Day to really show how much you care about someone?

not all women me and my ex hate that day. now were single and also hate it its really crap and funny how all those desperate men buy roses and other shit. they can do it every day in the year and its much more original than in a day, when calendar says "buy flowers"

I'm off into town in a bit to buy the Mrs a book I know she wants, and then I'm going to make a nice meal with candles (as opposed to eating it on our laps, in front of the TV like usual), but we're not spending money on pointless cards that you're only going to throw away in a few days.

I didn't have to buy anyone anything, mwahaha.

My girlfriend is living in my home country, so I'm not quite enjoying it. But then again, it's pretty much the same as yesterday and tomorrow for that matter.
The real valentine's day will be the day I walk through the arrivals exit door at the airport and see her.

Exactly. I'm seeing my missus after she finishes work tonight, at some point today I've got to leave my warm house and buy her a card and a gift, then take her out for a meal, then take her home. Why can't she just pop round and spend a few hours in the sack as usual? Cheaper, easier, and more fun.
