YVIS: 1, Should it be to see admins on servers?
Hello, I started to make this conversation of YVIS:

YVIS means, "You Vote It" Suggestion, in there, you can vote your opinions and talk about what is would be a best way to improve any thing on LFS, or is it even needed? You Vote It!

(PLEASE: Don't say that this already suggested or that this is not needed. I am trying to make good talk about YVIS - Questions with poll, which is telling your opinion and so on. Thank You)

This is not founded on similar threads anyway

Question 1: Should it be to see admins on servers?

Why this is needed? = This is have got sometimes alot of talking about this case. Usually people asks about to know is there admins at now. Because new racers doesn't know the community of LFS Servers, it would be nice to see the "big boss" on server, and to make know, what are a server rules.

Second thing is, sometimes we get annoyed, about if somebody is swearing, crashing, ramming, or other illegal tasks/things, especially cheating, it would be better to "mark" admins, for example, a different color. When admins are online, people should be calm down, to make sure to not get banned on server

What is your opinion? You vote it! (I am just asking, you are telling!)

Is it?

It is only possible to see the other admins, (in gold) if you are yourself and admin. I actually logged into our server the other day without admin password and the other admins were invisible. It's been this way for a very long time, at least since I had S2 in Dec 2006.

I would have though people cause more disruption if they can see no admins are online, and then act different when they see an admin is online and suck up. So I don't like the idea myself, but I guarantee others will not agree with me at all, and that's ok to feel that way. But I really thought that the reason admin status was purposely hidden from normal users was for something along this line. (Maybe I am wrong)

You can find out the "bad boys" better if they don't know that an admin is on the server or who is admin.
Hmm, Nice that there is many kind of different opinions

+1 to Jason.

Anyway, its often kinda obvious who is an admin on most servers:

On our server for example, admins have [NDR] in front of our name, and the server is called NDR|Public Racing -

on Redline Servers, admins have Redline in front of their name

And on Fragmasters, admins have [FM] infront of their name.....

That's true, but IMO it's better to have the "bad boys" straighten up and drive cleanly than be kicked or banned. Fewer kicks and bans = more drivers to race against.

Yes, this is true as long as the admins are there.

But when the admin leaves the "bad boys" might become bad again. If they were bad while an admin was online they wouldn't have the chance to be bad on that server in the next 999 days.

Yeah that's what they say : if they don't know who is admin, they there is a greater number that won't take the risk to **** around
