Another Storm Racing recruitment thread ! We are coding a marevllous InSim application, this one being a race system, and we are looking for many brilliant drivers!
Well, others seem to think differently from what I am about to state. But, I agree with Thor's statement that Storm Racing gave more support than anyone could have asked for. They provided us with so many tools for developing things such as the Head-to-Head system, and other big systems that I decided to stop working on. However, after being in the team for 8 months, the level of racing activity was minimal, and the three of us: Michael Passingham (Mp3 Astra), Eduardo de Souza (de Souza), and myself Tim Beaudet (blackbird04217) were really the most active of all 20? teammates that we had. I tried over and over to get the Storm Racing team more active, and we all even became a team admin; highest notch we could achieve. The reason we left was simple; we wanted more from the team. I have nothing to say except great things about Thor and Missing (Paul) who are the founders of Storm Racing, they are great people and have taken care of their team very well. Their goals were different than mine, and different than what I originally thought it was.
This is the first time we've publicly announced why we left because Thor and Missing took it quite hard. I understand bits of why they do, but they should know it was never my intention to "stab them in the back". I wanted to maintain close friendships; especially considering it was Thor's idea for us to break off into our own team. During the days when the three of us were in Storm Racing, SRS was going to something big that I do not want to mention. I poured 4 months of my life into that project, and then spawned the idea of Dash-for-Cash, which in turn spawned the idea of Head-to-Head. I wanted to keep running Head-to-Head under Storm Racing's name, considering they made it possible; without them, there wouldn't be Head-to-Head, or anything. I'm not sorry for leaving Storm Racing, although I am sorry things went the way they did when I had left.
As Thor said, "Make of it what you will", I can only say that the above statement is 100% true, and my intention of leaving was simply because the team wasn't what I wanted it to be. Not saying it was bad, I hold a lot of great memories with a lot of the guys I called team mates, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I wasn't saying we were the ONLY active members. Wanna list:
Cobra, You, Simah, Blas, and Greg maybe a few more that I can't think of. Don't twist my words please.
I didn't say only active, but we were more active than most everyone, on the forums trying to help, and on track supporting the team in the 12hr race, holding events etc. I'm not saying anything bad about anyone, and I will leave it that way, but the activity level of the team was far below 40% of the members for longer than I remember. Please don't twist the words to make it seem that way.
I totally agree with Blackbird. [SR] has recently been getting more active, particulary since Wild (a former cruiser and member of [LTC]) joined! Even though he was a cruiser, he still is a great racer! I still miss you Tim, Mike and Ed .
