The online racing simulator
Command sender.
Hi!
Is there some InSim app that connects to specified IP/port with admin password, and then you can send commands to DEDI server just by typing them into textbox and pressing button?
If no, can someone do it? I think it will be pretty easy.
Im not sure what you mean but I know that you can use the insim on Dedicated server when on a diffrent PC
mh do you want a InSim that connects to your server?
or only to your computer? or you mean a control pannel? like remote desktop only with commands?

hope i can help you.

I knocked up a little .NET app for you, that's very quick and dirty, but seems to work OK.

Changes for 0.2
  • Added error checking for host and port.
  • Fixed spelling mistake.
I've uploaded the source as a Visual C# 2008 Express Edition project. It's released under the "do what you like with it, I honestly couldn't care" license.

Thanks!

Big thanks, it is what I needed

Good you got one, I made a little app for that too

You can also use the InSim Remote on LFSWorld.

You mean InSim Relay?
Big thanks, JasonJ, now I can access mine server from every PC with flash installed.
Thank you again.

But on mine own PC I will use DarkTimes' app.
Big thanks to Victor for making it.

Forgot to add that to make LFS scripts work from within the remote tool, they need to be saved on the actual dedi host server - in the scripts folder. I have a few /msg binds saved in there and they can be executed from the remote. Just need to type //scriptname or /run scriptname , they work from the remote text box. It's easier sometimes than using the remote interface in for complex messages.

BTW welcome to S2 at last. ^_^

Yes, it LFSRemote is nice tool, but it is only flash.
I want it as standalone app.

I have script named Restart.lfs, when I do /run Restart.lfs or //Restart.lfs it shows that script is not found

You can download the stand-alone from the "?" in the remote interface.

It's still requires flash I think, I'm not sure. I think it will run without flash installed because it's an exe file. But I don't know many public PC's that don't have flash for www installed.
Alos I am not 100% sure, but I have read in Victors posts that the standalone may not always be the latest version, so the best one to use is the web version. But that was back in the day when he was first creating it. So by now the latest version might be the standalone as well. Sorry, can't offer more info there. There is no version number in the help info.

Other:

Yeh, you don't need the ".lfs" extension. Just //Restart should do it. LFS knows all scripts end with ".lfs" so it isn't required to execute them.

Note: the "//" is short for "/run "
