ALSO, it says on my tv, must be in SLEEP MODE or something like that....?

its a mitsubishi projector tv bought in like 2001. very much appreciate all help thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the resolution of your TV? This could be a simple problem of mismatched resolutions. The Windows boot screen is at (I believe) 640x480 resolution. But if, once Windows has loaded, the resolution is set to something higher it can't possibly display. I say you connect a normal monitor to your computer and set the Windows resolution to 640x480, and then connect it back to your TV and see if it shows anything.
yeah, sounds like a resolution problem... also... update your graphics card drivers as well, just incase
XP loads at 640x480, earlier versions load at 400x320. Later ones I have no idea.

As already mentioned, it could be the resolution. Your standard NTSC box wants 648x486 but it should be okay with 640x480.
I'd also look into your refresh rate. If you're coming from a 50, 75 or 80Hz refresh rate on the monitor then the TV won't take it. I think NTSC runs at 60Hz so it might be worth fiddling with that too.
