Momo 900º?
I am building my first PC for gaming. Last sunday i discovered the LFS game, community and i am already sold, in fact i am already after a decent wheel. The two obvious choices are momo and Driving force pro.
THe design and touch&feel of the momo seem superb, at the other hand the DFP offers the 900º feature.
COnsidering that the DFP is not officially a PC game (as far as i know) and thatthe 900º is obviously the next step, dont you think that Logitech will implement the 900º on the momo soon.

That is what is stopping me of buying a momo. I have no PS2 and i dont fancy the idea of using a wheel on an unsuported plattaform.

If i choose to wait... can you recomendme a not too expensive but decent wheel with force feedback? The Logitech force GP maybe?

This is my first post on this forum, happy to find you all. Forgive my crappy english
As I am getting my DFP in the next few days (my MS FF Pro's buttons don't work anymore...), I cannot review it yet. But if you go by the community (which I did), the DFP is one of the best FF wheels for PC, even though it was not officially supported for PC in the first place.

You just have o download the software from www.wingmanteam.com for FF and 900° mode to nwork under WinXP.

Concerning the Momo: My brother has one (black), and compared to my old MS wheel, it really is a leap ahead. It feels like actually gripping a racing wheel.

Bets thing is to go to a computer store, and see if they have set up some wheels, and try out which suits you more.

One warning though, concerning the logitech wheels: The pedals seem to be prone to hardware bugs. Have't encountered them on the momo yet (its about one month old) and the newest DFB build seems to be a ittle better on this side too.

EDIT: And concerning the 900° momo: Even though there is the technology, I wouldn't bet on it to happen. The PC is clearly lacking the killer-racing-application for a mass market to support this feature like GT4 for PS2.
I have had my DFP for a few months now, I upgraded from an ancient Thrustmaster so I cant really offer you a comparison with the Momo or any other new wheel.
What I do want to do is to try to put your mind at rest about the unsupported platform thing. From the Wingman team website (as ColeusRattus mentioned) -

"The WingMan® Team web site is maintained by the development team for Logitech® Gaming products."

In other words these guys work for Logitech, so it may not say PC compatible on the box, but Logitech have produced DFP specific drivers. That work excellently I might add
Im not in any way disappointed by my DFP, Im very impressed with it
I have the black Momo, and compared to my old MSSW its super, it actually took allmost seconds off my lap times on S1 times, feel of the track is just great compared to MS thingy. Havent tryed the DFP but that 900 dergee rotation just sounds silly, it could be good thought, not very handy with the formulas I think. And yes, there is some problems with the momo pedals, pedal axle wores litle and it isnt acurate anymore but you can fix it easily with tape, but the wheel...the wheel, its just super, its grippy and the buttons are where they should be and best thing compared to MSSW are the big shift padles...and as I said the FF is very good
Yeah, the 900 thing is silly, the most I use is 720, 450 for the formula cars.
You never know though, we could one day get a car in LFS that has 900 degrees of wheel rotation

Thanks to BWX232 for pointing this out (saved me the hassle of working out for myself ) -
