Which is a very good decision IMO! I shudder when I think of other forums where the unbelievable important information of one emoticon takes a whole page because of retarded sig sizes, either cluttered with stupid images or emo poetry.

Your sig picture, MikeXXL, wouldn't be too distrubing, but it's simply easier to just disable images than a moderator having to watch them all the time.

i have avatars and signatures turned off, because they just explode messages. 1 line post occupies half of the Opera's screen - no, thanks. Also avatars confuse you when people change them.

i allways thought that the lfs community (at least the part that roams this forum) was mature enough not to use these sorts of sigs ... but then again quite a few have annoying animated avatars so its probably better to go the easy way instead of having to monitor sigs ...

If we get image sigs then I'll be disabling signatures, they're just really annoying. You're allowed an avatar - do you really need TWO images attached to every post you make?

People using pics in signatures is just because most people dont want to stay behind and look cheap for not having one.
A has one, B wants one, C makes one because A looks cool.

I like to change my avatar regularly. I like seeing everyone's avatar, it says something about a person that a name alone doesn't. I love the way Bob stares out at me from his avatar, he never blinks!

I *hated* avatar swap week. urgh. That was the worst idea in history.

I either kept insulting the wrong people, or started talking to them about things they didnt know about *sulk*

I suppose its time to change my avatar soon though.....maybe I'll do some dynamic thing you can all sign or something...

Hehe, fortunately, i turned off avatars more than year ago, so i completely missed this event. Learned about this only now.

If you have avatars turned off, detail, why have you uploaded a custom one?
