Would love to see it happen but its not realistic. The races in Watkins Glen and Sears Point are always spectacular and exciting, and after them there is always talk "why not have more road courses" but for several reasons I dont see it happening.
The first two tracks that they should and would have gone too is Montreal, which always produced great NASCAR races for the Nationwide Series.

And Mexico City also had fantastic looking NASCAR races, its so much fun seeing the drivers hustling the big 750 hp cars and beeing able to do some rubbing, the skill of the driver really shines threw when its not all about the car like it is in F1.

But even though NASCAR is in Montreal and used to be in Mexico City with Nationwide and the races were awesome, Cup never followed and they have no intention. There are so many great tracks in the US besides of Mexico City, like Laguna Seca, Road America, you could easily find great tracks to fill up the NASCAR schedule with 7 or 8 road races.

But the problem is I believe on one side the schedule is already full, including All Star Race and Speedweeks you have like a 38 weeks racing schedule per year. Its extremely full already. You can hardly add any more races and to replace other races will be hard aswell as no one wants to give up his date and contracts are running. I'm not 100 percent sure on this but there is a Speedway group that owns alot of tracks in the Cup schedule, NASCAR Cup is the number one selling date for all these tracks, no one would want to give up his date.

But surely NASCAR itself, the drivers and we as fans are missing alot of great racing action of these bulls on the road courses.

But yeah, it's mainly about the money. The reason they don't take boring old Fontana race off the schedule is because it brings in fans and money. Sure, if places like Long Beach, Road America, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, VIR, Barber, Miller, and Sebring could produce amazingly large crowds and bring in a ton a money then sure.... you MIGHT see another road course race.

Even if the schedule was still 75% ovals (27 to 9 split) I wouldn't mind at all, but like I said before... not happening anytime soon.

Nascar in Laguna would attract some international attention trust me.

Hey, I'm not going to disagree. I can see alot of attention in it, but looking at the past few years of NASCAR I don't see it happening.

For a year or two maybe, but after a while I think the novelty would wear off and the majority of the new fans would stop watching. Same thing happened when the Busch series went down to Mexico, the first year the place was packed and after that less people came every year. It would be great if all these stunts Nascar pulls to get new fans actually worked, but in reality it seems like in the long run all they do is end up pissing off their long term fans who have stuck by them for years.

I know this is fictional, however I wanted to make this one point really clear:

NASCAR cannot drive clockwise ovals for safety reasons. They run counterclockwise on ovals so that the driver during massive suspension failure is seated away from the wall. Spinning automatically slows a car down, but when you have a tire going down at 200mph you really don't want to be right next to the concrete wall.

For the same reason the AUSCAR series (AUstralian Stock Car AutoRacing) ran clockwise on ovals. Those cars were righthand drive.

Also, I think Zandvoort should be added to your schedule

wouldn't be too much of a problem they could modify the driver seat to exact the middle the room to the side would be enough or updating the two venues I listed as (wich definately would need an Update for a NASCAR WS) sothat it is also possible to race counterclockwise...

generally I doubt NASCAR would try to make the move to international races, because of the actual crises

I think the daytona road course would be good enough....I mean, they are familiar(somewhat) with that track, and it has the space for 50+ cars to setup on a weekend.

Can't race NASCAR cars the other way round on ovals unless the steering wheel is moved either to the middle or the other side.

If I remember correctly it's in a rather dodgy condition e.g. more like a motocross track with massive pot-holes - and that's just the stands!
