Thanks. Looks good. Anyone else tried this mod with GT5 before?
Quote from Turbo Dad :I have had the Nixim brake mod for a while now and like the feel too.
But ,the end of the rubber block is being cut in to by the inside of the red shroud.
Spoke to Nixim ,who also had the same problem ,but said it wouldn't get any worse ....and no replacement offered.

Well to be fair Nixim have discussed this over at RSC, (where you also posted this) and they have already explained their position on this.

It seems this is quite normal and to be expected, they even say that once you have the mod in place - leave it alone, as disturbing it will mean it has to "bed in" again. I've had my mod in for well over a year now and it still works fine by me, beats me why you want a replacement when it seems the same thing will happen to that.
I mean bloody hell, the thing cost you less than £7, I would say for the effects its dam good value, and I have not seen anyone else have any problems or complaints.
It's easy to fix, too.. just place a small coin or something at the end.
Could anyone tell me what exactly to change in the settings when using the Nixim rubber?

I just installed it without any problems, but I must really say it feels awful! Now I only have a few milimeters of pedal way and I really have to jump on the pedal to use the whole pedal way

So I re-calibrated the wheel again in LFS settings and increased the brake power in my setup extremely (e.g. 1000nm more at my FXR set).

Now I am able to drive, but there is no way braking much later and I am only thinking about using enough force in my leg at the next brake point instead of the good, real progressive feeling which was promised

I am not able to adjust my braking just before locking the tires - it really feels like a digital on/off.

I really guess that my settings are complete wrong!

So a hint how to set the pedals up perfectly would be great!

Does the rubber become a bit softer after thousands of brakings? As I said I only can push the pedal down to the floor with the power of hulk In my real car I can easily adjust the brake power with much less power in my leg!

Do I need to change anything? - Yes, to brake with this mod, it takes a LOT more pressure to reach 100% braking, so you can now stab the brakes etc, and still get only 50% braking.. This means you will need to secure your pedals, a carpet grip simply won't hold it anymore... also, you will need to adjust your braking points, because you can now brake MUCH later and with more control. This also means you might want to change your sets accordingly, e.g. if in lfs your car has 1200 brakes, now you can set this to MUCH higher, as you have more control over the whole braking phase, although this in conjunction with the leo g25 adaptor brake mod will make this effect even more pronounced. Basically, it's similar to the difference from the momo to the g25

Do I need to configure LFS/Windows? - Yes, I use dxtweak 2 to set the initial brake point to when you feel the pressure from the mod, so you "feel" the point when the brakes discs are touching the wheels, and I also set atm the 100% brake as you have to push very hard to reach full braking, although this will change when my pdeals are fixed to the floor

The one in red is the key. Configure the brake axis in windows too.
Link in case you don`t have it.
Hmm... Thank you but I guess I am to stupid for that:

Starting DXTweak2 just gives me the choice to choose Visual Studio as debugger... Yes, I am Admin at my WinXP pro!

I also do not find where and how to configure the brake axis in Windows
If you are using DFP/G25 standalone pedals USB interface then you may want to try new utility that opens internal calibration feature. You can now go ahead and store calibration inside the device box. I think this should be a big step ahead in iRacing calibration struggle since they seem to bypass Windows calibration settings. You would need to press "Upgrade Firmware" button once at the beginning to load new firmware into the box. This has been tested on a few PCs and should work OK but if the application crashes just try a few more times. You should see the device version change from 1.1 to 1.2 and all the calibration features should get unlocked. After you start using internal calibration reset the Windows/DIView/DXTweak2 calibration to default! Calibrate gently - don't push or stomp on pedals while calibrating or tuning the limits. This will make sure you are setting realistic limits and always achieve 100% acceleration and braking. The software can be downloaded here: Calibration-DFP-G25.exe http://www.leobodnar.com/produ ... n/Calibration-DFP-G25.exe This has just been developed so please report any problems directly to me via email. This option only applies to DFP/G25 standalone pedals USB adaptor. BU0836, BU0836A, BU0836-LC and BU0836X are not compatible with this software
Crady, The rubber will become slightly softer through time so don't be tempted to cut anything from it.

It takes a bit of getting used to and I had to calibrate my brake pedal to about 80% of full range to get the best out of it, no way could I push the break pedal full down anymore.

I did try taking it out after a few weeks just to see the difference. I immediately put it back in and now could not get by without it.

Greatest invention for rubber since the condom
Well... still waiting for Leo´s Brake adapter... Will test it then.

I recognized that I slowly get used to it but it still feels like just braking on about 2 cm instead of the whole pedal way...

Yes, that sounds about right. The range of motion is dramatically reduced. I love how it feels, but I agree with you that the range is reduced too much. It becomes hard to maintain constant brake pressure during heel&toe for instance. That's the only reason why I consider getting the Clubsports. Other than that I love the G25 pedals!
Hmm... does anyone have experience how long Leo´s Adapter should take to be delivered?

At Monday I got an email that it has been shipped and it did not reach me yet
Ok, Leo´s Adapter just arrived yesterday.

But to be honest I have no experience how to calibrate the pedals properly

I don´t mean that I don´t know how to use the calibration in game control settings or the little program "Calibration-DFP-G25.exe" I downloaded form Leo´s website. I am also able to calibrate my axis in LFS.

What I mean are the values you are using now!

Perhaps someone who really got faster using these mods and also managed to brake much later could post his settings... I mean which values he uses in the "Calibration-DFP-G25.exe" program and how much brake power he added to his normal setup to fit these mods...

e.g. I am now running these settings:

Gas Pedal: 72/945
Brake Pedal: 59/718
Clutch Pedal: 18/898

In LFS I added 900nm to my normal setup for the FXR at AS3.

But I did not realize that I was able to brake later than normal - better I have to brake a bit earlier... But I managed to increase my PB for 0:00:02 But this was BEFORE I got Leo´s adapter...

Most laps I am about half sec above my PB and I always really have to take care not to lock my wheels...
Just got mine today. Tried it out and so far 2 things I remarked was, a) that I could increase brake power in setup and put the brake bakance more to the rear and b) throttle and brake control became much more precise. For braking late: Yes maybe but not much, only thing is that it is much more easy to unlock a locked tyre or to prevent it in the first place.

P.S.: I´m not sure about this but it seems that Leo´s adapter also fixed my wheel calibration problems. To explain it in short terms. On longer stints my wheel started getting of the center to the right (even once it was 90 degrees off the center) , doesn´t seem to be happening now, but I still have to see if it will stay that way.
About Leo's mod, being for DFP/G25, does anybody know if this will also work for DFGT pedals ??

Yup, it'll work with DFTG.
