Hello again,
I'm back with a new creative project which I started earlier this week. My initial ideas were inspired when I remembered my favourite ever arcade racing game, Burnout 3:Takedown. I went to Youtube and watched the intro movie.
If squidhead was to evaluate that video, he would find many things wrong with it, and I agree that as a piece of cinematography it isn't very good. However, there are a few moments that I found quite exciting and that I wanted to recreate in my video. The video I made is not a direct copy, but it contains 6 similar moments to moments found in the real video. I didn't try to copy these moments exactly, but I wanted to at least give the same impression which, I think, is what I did. This video was also supposed to test my special effect skills. I'd never used Adobe After Effects, so trying to incorperate what I wanted to incorperate was very hard. You'll see some kind of *wtf* moments, but just suspend your disbelief for the 1 minute video.
I'm not totally happy with the way this movie ended up, and there are a number of things I wanted to do that were impossible with the software I was using, but overall I'm pretty pleased.
First, watch the original Burnout 3 Intro on Youtube
You can stream from YouTube.
You can download from FileFront (19.45mb).
BONUS FEATURE:
You can watch both videos side-by-side on YouTube, so you can compare them.
