hi has any one tried this?
what is it?:
its a device that builds boost easily while you are not in gear it is useful in drags or to get you of the line quickly. i guess its kind of like a cross between launch control and anti lag.
how do you simulate this in live for speed?:
get in a turbo charged car and rev it (dont hit the rev limiter) and either have the car in neutral or have it in gear with the clutch in than press i or what ever you use to turn the car off and put your foot flat on the pedal than keep turning the car on and off while having the cars accelerator in and the cars clutch in or neutral (remember dont hit the rev limiter).
the car should hit max boost and you can take off and it will make your car alot quicker in a straight line.

also:
you can experiment with taking off at different boost levels and RPMs for eg. dont have the accelerator flat and build a bit of boost and take off at low revs or high revs. or have your foot welded to the floor and build maximum boost at high RPMs. or keep your revs very low and keep reving till it hits maximum boost at like 2500 RPMs ps to do that at low revs you need to rev it high build max boost than turn the car off keep your foot to the floor till desired rpm than turn the car on than take off. which is pretty cool seeing as with doing this 2 spec simulation you can build high boost at around 2000 rpms wich you cant do any other way before

here is a video of a real car with real 2 step

just think of it as this you can take off at just about any rpm and you will have the turbos spooled up at maximum boost

unnecessary. Rev the shit out of any car in LFS to build boost, then dump the clutch.

P.S. - That looks a bit like canning mills road.....

you could do that but the whole point is to be able to build boost at low , mid and high revs if you just sit on the limiter and dump the clutch you will build boost but it will only be at high revs.
and i also noticed that after a while of rev limiter you can damage your engine not as quick as real life but you can in live for speed.

ps im not sure about the road he is a guy i know on the supra forum he lives in WA.
It actually is pointless in lfs. And I dont think you can get engine damage by being on the revlimiter in lfs..

Anyway.. Two step and anti-lag(On a launch) are used to optimize traction. In LFS you can change the gear ratios to anything you like.

You are 100% correct. One night when i was bored and it was very late, i tested this.....

I used an XRT and jammed the throttle in the flat out position using cable ties to hold the pedal down. I then dozed off for a while, and about an hour or so later i woke up to find my XRT happily revving away as it was before.

I even did a lap in it afterwards and it was totally fine, just a little lower on fuel.

The only way you can damage the engine in LFS as far as i know is by changing down too early which makes the engine over rev.

To try this, choose a car, go as fast as you can on the AU dragstrip, select first gear at max speed and hold tight!
