FF was shit. Just move everything to Rapidshare. It's used for 95% of the warez stuff on the net so it cant close soon. Too important for the illegal users of our world lol.

That makes no sense.

Actually, that's precisely why it's likely Rapidshare could close! If your site hosts an insane amount of illegal material, you're going to get found out soon enough.

No.

Rapidshare provide high speed (usually) download and really quick upload. There is NO way to get a Premium account other than buying one. People tried all the possibles ways, you HAVE to buy a premium account to be able to download more than one file at a time and have a quicker connection / limitless download rate.

You'd be surprised of how many people who dont want to pay 15£ for a game are paying £54 a year just to download as many games and apps as they want.

Rapidshare has a strong userbase and a lot of people are buying Premium accounts, even more since FF closed. It's here for a long time still.

Plus most illegal files are either split into a lot of partitions (That you can download all at the same time if you got a Premium account) and use passwords.

Warez is bulletproof.

PS: This isnt a pro-warez post, just felt like explaining MP3 Astra how things work nowadays.
So selling stolen DVDs in real life can get you closed down, even if you're making a profit. Rapidshare may be making money, but that doesn't mean they're above the law.
That was not too good idea to start this thread in the Movies section.
Quote from Knight_Atack :Well, another good hosting website for videos and such lost. Meh.

I don't really think there were lots of LFS vids. He just typed "hosting website for videos" to make it look like it's not offtopic, but actually it's not related with LFS videos that much. At least I think so. It only covers posts about LFS videos. Someone could move it to the Offtopic section.
You should take note that there were a number of videos with their downloadable versions that were hosted on FileFront. It's related by being another host for downloadable videos that disappears (+ it had the stream option on most vids posted there).
Any news on this? Filefront.com is still up and the bulletin is gone now.

I tried to upload something and get this:
This function is currently down for maintenance and will be back shortly.
it's april the first xD

filefront still works here
Back!

Quote :FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to suspend FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.

We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive.

Due to the very unfortunate timing of this event and related announcements on March 24th and April 1st (April Fool's Day), we'd like to make it perfectly clear that:

1) 1) The March 24th announcement about FileFront suspending its operation was NOT an early April Fool's joke.

2) This announcement about the original founders buying back FileFront from Ziff Davis Media is also NOT an April Fool's joke.

3) We're making this announcement on April 1st because the deal was completed today and we want to bring all services back online immediately.

4) We would NEVER suspend FileFront as an April Fool's joke.

5) We are happy to be back!

FileFront has existed in one form or another (originally as FileLeech and Voodoo Extreme's downloads) since 1997. In the last 12 years, FileFront has become the gaming community's most comprehensive and trafficked library hosting millions of files for thousands of games while requiring no registration and providing uncapped download speeds. We look forward to improving FileFront and serving the gaming community for years to come.

Welcome home. Game On!

Wow, well that's good, lol.
Btw, why is this thread in "Movies" section?
