The online racing simulator
Quote from Bob Smith :Meh. I haven't bothered with it, car is perfectly driveable without. I tried turning it on and unless I was silly it didn't do anything anyway. But useful for newbies I guess.

In real life, expert drivers lap times improve by several seconds with traction control on. Even fast sequential shifters can shave off 1 or 2 seconds per lap. Expert drivers in real life wouuldn't use TC unless it was helping. So if TC helps in real life, it should help equally well (maybe even more since you can't feel g forces) in a racing sim.

Tried online today a couple of times. Good fun, but I need some help. I'm more of an offline racer. Tried online a few times but was always put off by the amount of time required to get going with everyone, and then someone would make a mistake and ruin it, etc.

There's also a hotlap portion to the game. Some people don't like racing with others and instead hotlap the cars and compete with others that way. You should check out http://www.lfsworld.net/ and then double click on s2 hotlaps. I'm warning you though that the fast guys aren't beatable by mere mortals.

Yeah, but it still takes some of the skill and most of the fun out when using TC. With TC you can drive it like the FOX. Without it's actually a challenge and rewarding to power out of corners without spinning. Keeps my right foot in shape too.
