Race/Track experience in the UK?
Hi! Me and two other friends are about to travel to UK and enjoy some new track racing experience.
The track experience we have (from Portugal) is 4-stroke 270cc karts racing which we do enjoy. I was thinking in some nice single seater such as the formula ford, or some cheap to rent race-preped tintop?

I'm really stepping into the dark, I don't really know much about the possibilities we have, we're just 3 guys that are willing to spend 150GBP max each, in some (possibly short :P) racing experience more exciting than karting is

Any ideas?
Nope. Youre not going to make it with 150BGP.
Also Formula Ford is far ahead of your abilities.
I don't think you will have enough with 150GBP but your best bet would be to look at all the UK circuits like Brands, Oulton and search Palmer sport. Just have a look and see what you can get with your money.

Theres a few Ferrari experiences there for your money but don't know how good they are, im assuming your restricted speed wise etc.
If you look at the tracks you wish to go on I'm sure there is some 'track day experience', where you can hire a car for around £100.

The 'experience' days can be quite restricted so choose very carefully.

If you organise one yourself it you'd be more free but trackdays alone usually cost over £100, so with car hire on top of that you're likely to blow your budget.

Pistonheads would be a good start:

Look into special events as well. Festivals like Japfest have track time available for really low prices - Japfest is at Castle Combe and was £35 for the day's track time. That gets you two or three 15-minute track sessions during the day.
Obviously Japfest is for Japanese cars only, but I'm pretty sure there'll be others for European and Yank cars too

The best track days are open pitlane ones, typically start at around £120 for airfield circuits or around £200 for race circuits for a day with about £20 per extra driver, you can get half days/evenings for less. It would be much cheaper to either drive your car from Portugal or buy an old banger in the UK than try and hire something for the day and you don't have to worry what state you leave it in
Thank you very much guys! Really appreciated! I didn't know there were so many options =) Gotta check these very carefully.
Car hire for the day seems very expensive for our budget (though wer're now considering 150 - 200 GBP). I'm currently focusing on those kind of experiences with some tuition, and some laps around a track. Did find something like 20 minutes at the wheel of a single seater for around 150GBP, but I reckon a race prepped car such as a 205 would be a blast! I'm looking if it is possible to rent them for just a couple of hours instead of a whole day, to cut in the expenses..
There are cheap options around which are often used for stag nights and parties.

There's place near Nottingham for example where you can blast around in a Peugeot 205 on a gravelly road for the day. There's a lot of waiting since you take it in turns but it's great fun and only about £60, so there are budget options if you're after some silly motorsport fun
