ok guys, your honest opinion.

ive got the pedals from a red momo, and some parts of the wheel.

wheel itself
circuit board, usb connection, power supply
FF motor and some of the gears.

now, is it worth trying to make a home made wheel out the parts, using bearings and a threaded steel rod, plus extra gears to make the rotation bigger, like 540 degrees using a 3:1 ratio fro example?

then use the motor to give it FF?

or just buy a new wheel (due to funds, may be a while)

...I'd say if you're comfortable using tools go for it, Bose321 made a wheel, I haven't seen his progress in that thread though...but unless you shop around for bearings and all the other bits and bob's you need you could wind up spending near enough the same as the price of a second-hand wheel!

So, go for it if you've got the know-how, or just go on ebay and pick up a second hand wheel to save yourself the heartache

Also, there are many many forums around where their members have similar projects, take a google for some inspiration and ideas.

In my view, if you want to do it because you would enjoy doing it, go for it by all means. If instead you're just looking for a way to spare some bucks, it's most likely a dead end
