It's set in a prison on an island, where the prisoners are left to their own devices to make their own communities out of what they can find, and I think has Christian Slater in it, although that might be wrong. There's camps of the 'good' prisoners and the 'bad' prisoners and it's gets a bit Mad Max in parts.

The plot involves trying to escape past the (obviously corrupt) wardens. At one point they send an unmanned boat out and helicopters blows it up.
