I've built a little stand for my pedal set, as it tends to become uncomfortable when it's laying on the floor. The stand is an improvement, but I'm having a hard time finding an entirely satisfactory position. FTR the wheel is clamped to a standard desk and I sit on a common (not office) chair.

I could use some advice on what angles/height work better for such a setup.

Basicly what you need to do is get a race seat or something

Thing is to have "loose" legs. In a race seat you sit quite deep in it if you get what i mean xD So your butt is set and your feet/legs can gently touch the pedals

PS: i just hung up my pedals too and this is pretty great. I can let my feet "park" under them and the feel while driving is way better too, imo

JazzOn you're spot on about using a proper seat of course, I'm still looking for a decent one 2nd hand (been in junkyards too), but no luck so far. Luckily the pedals have a small area where I can rest my heels so no problems for that, but there's a problem with the lack of depth of an ordinary chair.

I also agree about hanging pedals, unluckily my desk has a longitudinal beam hanging too low for that.

This whole stand thing is a bit of a prototype to test how well the idea works, made of wood that would have been throw away anyway. If this turns out well I'll be thinking about extending the concept to include a support for a car seat too.

oh yea, indeed, i was very lucky.
And it was actually friend of mine who found one at ebay and we both shot one for like 40 euros. (it was a sale out or something). + its not really that comfortable since it`s quite hard, but i dont do endurance races so it works
My times did improve with the seating position.

Sometimes i even dont wanna get up, since i`ve gone a bit more extreme. Its now mounted with an angle of 15°, wich makes it in the end maybe like 20-25° when atualy sitting.
Quite a task to get up, hehe.
