I can understand the BF1 madness right now and almost everyone racing with it, but the only place running GTR cars was freakin Aston National yet again tonight. Aren't you guys about tired of that place? It's been over a year now! Let's race somewhere else for a change. It's a bit boring to go somewhere else and drive around for hours just hoping someone will connect so you can race. This isn't an online simulator, it's a freaking GTR at Aston National simulator. Take a little challenge and try some of the other tracks for a change!!!!

And for that matter why the hell are nearly all of the non-oval BF1 servers running Blackwood?!?!? In case you still haven't figured out the Guru's cryptic message: THE BF1 LAPS WELL UNDER A MINUTE AT BLACKWOOD!!!! Been there, done that...MOVE ON!!!!

The new Aston configs are very interesting and I wish they would get used more often. North is a blast to drive, a real roller coaster ride. Westhill is also very suited to the BF1.

On the topic of GTR's, has the FZR advantage been removed or reduced? I prefer XRR but would like to contend for wins now and again.

what happened to UFR/XFR sometimes i see the ATC guys racing and jump on that server but sometimes I load up LFS and see theres none of that car racing and just exit.

I am loving the BF1 on both Westhill and most especially on Kyoto GP long. It's best suited to long tracks, and lots of laps. I just bumped some of our servers up to 15, 20 and 25 lap races, though I don't know how easily the 6 lap mindset will budge, even now we have a car which suits a loooooooong sprint.

Got a feeling the FZR will step even further out front. I don't have any good setups for it yet, but it seems to me that they can go a LOT deeper into a race without cherry-red tyres. The XRR I drove the other day just briefly.. stuck like GLUE! I could get fond of this car again. Barely driven the FXR since the FZR got so much easier for me to use. It just feels sluggish now, where it had been my car of choice.

Oh man forgot to mention KY GP Long. Also very awesome!!! IMO, I'd like to see the following as 'heavy-use' combos:

BF1 - Kyoto Oval
BF1 - Kyoto GP Long
BF1 - Aston North

FO8 - Aston National
FO8 - South City Town Course
FO8 - Kyoto National

GTR - Aston Grand Touring

LRF - Blackwood
LRF - Aston Club

Those are just a few new or previously unheard of combos that would really well if server admins made an effort to use them.

Why almost all races are less than 10laps

Should be server with random track and 30-40laps at minium and only road cars.

Well, world is not good perfect I guess, always need to make own server to have online races and then most of time nobody shows up.

ya i feel ya, the GTR at aston nat has to stop. and i really feel that FE black is not used as much as it shoud be for racing there all just drift servers that have FE black. DAMNIT i want racing on FE black! LOL and the BF1 is allready over used, im allready to the point where i cant stand the car i find with the new pach (plz shoot me for what im about to say) i like driving the XFR (this is ungodly for me to say ANYTHING nice about FF's) and i have seem to have lost the will to tune becus i have all these setups that i took time to tune and now there useless, i've retuned my drift car (XRT) but thats it. i've just been runing race_S any where i go lol

I see your point. I'm a bit tired of the ol' combos as well.. I remember a few months back, if I wanted to ... for example race the UFR/XFR, I HAD to race on As Club, or race alone. Simple as that illepall

Just a matter of time when this kind of thread had to pop up... I agree. I haven't driven BF1 at all actually, it's feels fast but so dull as all formulas usually. Real pitty that the F1 had to come now because the road cars are finally fun to drive. Not surprising though that it's the most used car...

And what the **** is with the "all cars" servers? Server admins, HELLO!? Those are basicly now BF1 servers. I won't even join all cars servers, or I might go to to screw around with the UF1000 when F1s are going past me all the time... Then other people might notice too that all cars servers simply suck.

I've never had a problem with GTR/AS Nat, I think it's great track for newcomers.

It won't work, those with faster cars think that they have right of way even we would be 1st after T1 and they push our out of road

But how about painting skin with opinions and then driving with uf1, we could make some hits to server, 5 uf1 on track rest BF1

whilst i can agree about the number of bf1 servers i have to disagree about the number of bl servers, there are a few other tracks in use and guess what? the races on them aren't as full as the bl servers so i'm guess ing that at the moment people want bl servers.

anyway lets face it a lot of these servers aren't locked to just the bf1 and given how many people still haven't mastered the bf1 for more than 2 laps at a time, i would think if you into a race with a gtr you may well finish in top 3

seriously thought , its just like new toys at xmas, give it a week or 2 and there will be more cars / tracks in use

FO8@Oval, why always it was at oval, it stopped when new patch did came out. I don't race oval, I can't understand thirll in that

There were a lot of other circuits/configurations for GTR cars online tonight. Choice enough, but they were all empty apart from AS National and some Kyoto configuration... So it seems people prefer Aston National. I find it fun to drive myself too.

And right now the BF1 is a car that draws away many people from the other classes. But that will even itself again over the coming months.

I think a serious problem LFS has at the moment is too few drivers for too many cars / circuit combinations.

JTbo: Because not everyone has the time for races of an hour or longer. Many times I jump in the car whenever I have some spare time. That may be only 20 minutes. Then I'm happy to find 5 lap GTR servers so I can at least drive a few races. Not that I'm saying there shouldn't be 10+ lap servers. I've been enjoying the 20 lap races at the DRT Aston server and I imagine even longer races can be very challenging... But as I said, not everyone has the time for it.

I find it odd that almost no one has time, but I think we should have server that would host longer races every 2 hours or so, at scheduled time race would start, don't know if it is possible to define dediserver to work like that.
First qual and then at defined time race and after race it would go to qual mode again until next scheduled race is started, this way we could better know when to enter to server.

I could test this of course, today at 12 UTC (around 5h 20 mins from now) I start long race host will start somewhat before that, I place my nick to server name. We see if there really is not anyone interested from long race.

I read your other topic. I'm quite sure there is interest in such races, but... You do realize that 12 UTC is during working hours for most Europeans?

Yes, that may affect it of course, but if there is some ppl posting that they like it to run different time, then I run, you all have power now, use it

The popularity of the GTR@AS3 was not a surprise for me but the fact that there was only one(1) server running the LRF class was (LRF = Fz50, RAC, LX6) a big disappointment. Now that the cars are drivable, I'd like to race with them more.

I think if more people would join an emty server and set their favorite combo that aint driven that much, wait a few minutes till others join... once you have like 4 people in a server things start to speed up and more players join...

So it is a matter of not acting like sheep all the time and joining the 13 players in a server game, but try joining that one guy on this combo you havn't done yet... you might find out that it is fun !

I will every now and then host long races with less used tracks and cars, I will post info again to league/events area when I decide what to race next

If you would like to have something or make somthing happen you need to do it yourself, otherwise it is not going to happen, don't know why, but it is so with modding and race servers, life in general etc...

The hosting is not the problem. Over here in the US last night, there were something like 5 servers running all cars (ie, everyone in BF1), many BF1 only, 1 GTR at Aston Nat (of course it was full all night and I ran there awhile), and the rest were either Blackwood or folks were running FWD's. Of the 300 servers you see in the list, about 285 of them are empty. So, it's not like you can't find a race, you just can't find anyone to race because they are all in the BF1 or at AS3. Like I said, I was at AS3 for a while, then went to KY National and GP empty servers and just sat waiting and hoping someone would connect. Nope, no one.

I was hoping to see some more active servers with folks on over here in the US with the patch, but, it doesn't seem to be the case. There are a few more racers, but not as many as I'd expected.

The "all car" servers really mess up the filtering if you want to look for a particular car class. They don't show up if you filter by class. Hmm, there's a possible improvement suggestion.

I think it would help a lot if people viewing the server list in LFS would get automatically logged on to that lounge chatroom at the top of the screen instead of having to press a button. By being able to talk to all the people coming and going it would make it a much easier to organize quick pickup races in servers with less popular car/track combos rather than simply sitting alone on a server and hoping a kind soul shows up.
