TBO Class evened out
I have mostly been driving the XRT since patch T and I simply love it now. Had a few good races yesterday with some dSRC members racing the TBO's on KY National. general Al had made a FXO setup that they used and I used a modified patch Q FE Green setup, and I was able to keep up. Even lead the race for a whole lap lol

With a good XRT setup I believe that it will be able to compete with the FXO but its too early to tell. Anyone driven the RB4. Is it competitive?

TBOLX4 or LX6/RAC/FZ50 rules again!

We need much more servers with them
is the lx4 really as slow as tbo???

Yes, I was driving all 3 over the weekend, and yes, they have been evened out, a little.

There is still room for them to be evened out more, as I still think the FXO is the clear winner on most of the tracks, although the XRT is close on KY Nat because of its top speed advantage.

The RB4 is much better, would be a great contender on a track like Fern bay, as its drivetrain penalty lets it down on the faster tracks.

They are more even, but they could be made more even

Dan,

It should be, that will be the best for not to isolate LX4
It's annoying to drive LX4 next to FXOs. I feel like I'm a mouse and the FXOs are elephants.
To be honest, I don't really experience much difference. Although the RB4 and XRT seem to be a bit faster then before (easier?), the FXO is much easier to drive on the limit. When driving the XRT and exiting a corner just perfect, it's very rewarding and big fun ! But the party usually ends up very fast when a FXO is on your tail.

BTW : I still see lots "closed diff" setups.

True, but its not the gimme it used to be, locked diff used to own in all circumstances.

In last nights ESL race we were all using FXO's, I think I was the only one to use the clutch pack, and I was lapping as fast as the top 4 guys easily, plus I think my tyres were better too.

Yes, it still works, but its not the killer-app it used to be.

Nope, LX4 is faster by at least 2 or more seconds.

Right now only the XR Turbo and RB4 are even I think. The FXO is still fastest. But the TBO class is very close to being even, just needs a few more adjustments to FWD physics and that'd be it.

Has anyone put more effort into measuring the XFG versus the XRG? It's definitely more even, but I couldn't spend enough time to get a good impression.

XR GT is fastest for top speed, but as usual, cornering speed is invincible with FWD, so the GTi conquers it quite easily

Did a test on blackwood, and out from the chicane the GT got ahead, but the GTi was terrible to race with, as it caught up to you really fast, no matter how hard you tried with the GT. It catches up to you just like the FXO behind you when you're in an RB4

I think they are now VERY close, just take a look at the hotlap charts, 0.10 second between them.

Dan,

I dont think that hotlaps really matter in such thing. Especially siince there aren't that much hotlaps yet.

Before the patch, the hotlap for the XRT on Blackwood was only half a second (or so) slower than the FXO, still most of the time, the FXO was 1-2 seconds faster.

I didn't want to hear "I tried the two for a while on one track-config" but more like "It's my favorite class and after checking 12 combinations and tinkering around with setups I get the impression that..."
I also tried my hour with the XRG, but that is obviously not a basis for a conclusion.
So I recon that we still have to wait. The hotlap chart isn't really representative either at the moment. Sometimes this car is faster, sometimes that car, sometimes they're even even, sometimes 7 seconds difference - it propably needs more time.

Well, it depends on the track, the LX4 is a lot slower on the straights, but faster out of the corners, so if you got a track like AS Nat I think it would struggle to keep up.
I did some racing on Fe Gold:

In my opinion RB4 and GTT are actually very even, whilst still not very competetive against the FXO (or definitely LX4 for that matter).
are u kidding the GTT is faster now, but the RB4 is still way behind
Wr for Rb4:1:34.42
GTT: 1:34.83

I don't see how that's way faster... (Moreover, they were made by the same person).

I'll say this again just to make myself clear: I'm ONLY talking about FE Gold here, since I simply haven't raced them at different tracks enough to compare.

what's that "test drive" link in your signature for ? are you trying to get people used to some arcade flavors ?

as someone said, it's still soon to make conclusions: i've managed to be way faster with rb4 on a fe-green server and i easily beated every fxo and gtt, both on qualy and race...still to consider that previously nobody drove rb4, so rb4 experience for setups is still "young"

If you think 15kg ( -8 rb4, +7 fxo )will change "something" in the car balancing well i think you think wrong

In French TBO Season 3, FXO have a passenger has handicap and they are still 1 sec faster Especialy on fast tracks.

Just my 2 cents thought , futur will tell me if i'm wrong or not, i sincerely hope to be wrong.
I've been having a blast with the RB4 - last night I was often taking a top 3 position on Blackwood against mostly FX0's. I had a go on KY Nat as well and was doing okay, you really have to work to make the car run a good laptime compared to the FX0 though. My laptimes were on average slightly slower than FX0's still but it is more competitive than it previously was. And great fun to drive!
Well, if you remember version P/Q WR's, you"d remember that BL1 was the track where the RB4 was the closest to FXO WR's
Now just try on track with loooooooooong straight AS Historic for instance

I had a little TBO action yesterday on Aston North. I drove the XRT and was being chased by a FXO. It was a pretty close race all the way through. Noticed that the FXO could brake later and that I would pull away going out of the corners. Down the straights it was pretty much even. Only places I struggled was in the hairpin and slow corners where it seemed easier for the FXO to turn. Maybe my XRT setup was too understeery?

But yeah I deffinitely think that its much closer now. My best lap was mid 1.22 and the FXO drove a 1.21.99
RB4 and XRT still a lot slower than FXO.... on KY GP long for example, i take like 30 laps to do 2.49.6 pb with XRT, then i take FXO and in 3 laps i did 2.48.6... so, FXO still + than 1s faster than XRT...

maybe now its a bit closer, but FXO still a lot faster...
