I've had the opportunity to buy a G25 cheap, but when I got the money (today!) it was already sold out. (Basically they sold it for half the price, which is around $188)
The store also sells the DFP (not the DFGT) for the same price, so my question is how bad is the DFP when compared to G25 and should I buy it or wait?

You better get DF GT, it has much better FFB.

Wait! The DFP is a good wheel but no where near as good as the G25! My DFP has given me problem after problem and now doesn't work at all because the PSU broke. Clever Logitech.

If you have the money buy the G25, I guess.

No no, they were the same price for a short while (while the stock lasted). G25 is ~$350 over here.

I see what you are getting at now . $188 for a DFP is a total rip off to be quite honest with you. My DFP was £60 December 2007 (when they were still being made!)

i switched from a DFP to a g25. the dfp is like comparing a kids pedal car, to say a ferrari F40. Worlds apart in build quality AND feel.

My DFP seemed to work really good at first, but now it seems very "loose", like it makes tiny little movements even when I am not moving the wheel, and it isn't nearly as accurate as I'd like it to be. I have to constantly compensate for these little movements. It also goes slightly off-center now because of this issue, which can get annoying.

So while it's a good wheel, in my experience it doesn't really hold up to long-term heavy use. I've never owned a G25, but it definitely does feel smoother than the DFP. I'm not sure how it compares with regards to durability/reliability, but I would think it's better in those areas too.
