Raceabout/LX appreciation
Tonight I was able to find populated servers for RAC on Westhill rev
and LX4 on Fern Bay green. They're so much more predictable now.

It's not that they're all that much easier to drive, especially
the RAC. Trying to take the last corner of WE rev flat out and not
losing the rear end on the bumps at the exit is exhilarating. same with
the LX4, now I can use a little throttle during the chicanes and
hairpin without instantly spinning.

Agreed. Havent really tried RAC or FZ5 yet, but at least LX's are much better now with new tyre physics. Still slippery but more realistic imo. And I don't need to toss a coin anymore before the turn to know whether it's gonna understeer or oversteer
Yeah, I was on a full server last night, LX6/FZ50/RAC on AS North and it was a lot of fun.

Yep, the RAC will still bite when pushed

Dan,
Yeah, that was a good laugh, even if I was hopelessly off the pace. I think the trick with the RAC is having a setup you can have a lot of confidence in.
I was just driving Race_S and allthough its fairly driveable it was hard to really push.

IMO LX cars arent as fun anymore as they were
just got them understeery, and i like oversteer.
i want old lx style back
Trust me, you can dial out that understeer. If you're an idiot like me you go way to far and do entire laps sideways, and not on purpose :O

did that alot last night at as north in the lx6, seemed out of control in a controlled sort of way.......?!?

i think the lx series are fantastic now
I have done more laps in LX6 than all the cars together after the patch release. Before it was horrible, LX4 was almost drivable. Pitty that when you look the server list LX6 doesn't seem to very popular car... or the whole LRF (or whatever it was called, RAC-LX6-FZ50) class.
Pre-patch there was never even a remotely full LRF server, last night there were 2, heck people were even struggling to get into the one I was on.

Hopefully the new patch will open up more variety, not sure I am a fan of Aston North though

Dan,
That server last night was fun. First time I'd ever driven on AS North and I think it's my new favourite track for S1 cars

Dan,

what don't you like about it?
Hmm....the twisty reverse bit after T2 is a bit nasty, doesnt seem to flow as well as it does "the right way", the sharp turn before the grandstand has no guide for brake point, as does the fast turn after the grandstand, and the turn after the straight is odd, can't seem to get a good line.

Probably just me not liking it, but the lack of brake point guides (markers or otherwise) is a PITA.

Dan,

I think you mistook the word "nasty" for "challenging and exciting" there.
One man's nasty, is another man's challanging

I'll drive it, I'll probably come to like it the more I drive it, but i found it a chore last night.

Dan,
Will there be LFR servers today to? luved it
Yeah, I agree with Dan to some extent. As North Reverse is much better than standard. The swoopy twisty section flows much better and it includes the mentally fun high speed left-right after the grandstand straight.
Also, I prefer the corkscrew in the uphill direction.
The only bit that doesnt work better is the tight bit that is T1-2 on the forward config.
LX6 is good fun now, I restricted myself to the 4 in patch Q since the 6 just seemed to have too much power for it's own good. I'll be looking for that AS North Rev server again tonight. Or Blackwood. Or anywhere really. So long as I'm winning.
AS Cadet rev is very good for LX6 too, close racing.
I'm well happy with the new tyres, much more realistic IMHO.

I took a LX4 on a 45 minute stint at AS_historic (SP) just for fun last night and the car was fantastic (after a few setup tweaks to sort the balance/turn in out) I managed 14 laps (at a healthy 3.05 pace) before i finally fell off (spin at eau rouge :tilt

before patch S/T i would struggle to make it around the track more than 3 times without bending the car, and i've driven quite a few 7s IRL.

I reckon the LXs are gonna end up being very popular
ill put the mercury server in lrf as yesterday but i cant play as much, it was crazy at aston
