Turbo Effect
Hi
I have question.
Why Turbo cars in LiveforSpeed has turbo effect from old cars of 1970.
Today stock cars has blow off ventil to reduce turbo effect. GTR car XRR is verry unreal car. Because it has modern racing slick, sequential gearbox, 3 way differential and old turbo without Blow off ventil??
I ask why!
Please tell me why..
You can get blow off valve sounds in LFS.
And what do you mean to stop "turbo affect"? Turbo lag??
If so, a blow off valve does not stop turbo lag. Its mainly there for noise, but it does help stop compressor stall.

Thus, between gears, it possibly can help with lag on higher pressure systems. Don't ever let Tristan tell you otherwise.

IIRC BOV's, when setup correctly, eliminate compressor surge on lift off of accelerator. Has nothing to do with lag. Also, most factory cars have a plumb back BOV (for emissions requirements) and they are pretty quiet, but LFS does simulate it. (the race cars have quiet BOV's, but it's there)

Use Shift+A to bring up the sound menu, and turn it up/reduce the muffler effect on the Dump Valve.

Anything that minimizes backpressure on the impeller will obviously help with "lag" between shifts. On a relatively high pressure system, the mass of the recirced air can be more of a detriment to maintaining shaft speed than simply venting it to atmosphere. If you want to refer to lag as only the time it takes to pressurize a manifold from negative to max, then sure, it has nothing to do with that (obviously).
They do help on racing / full throttle applications - I would never say otherwise. But on a road car I don't see the point of building up boost at 1/2 throttle only to lose it all when you change gear or lift off. Much better to recirculate as much pressure as possible so that you don't have to start from scratch building boost again.

But if I ever decided to race a turbo car (something I'd only consider if it gave me 1200hp in qualifying trim) then I'd want all the valves and things I could find
