Be nice, you'll get rich!
I hope this hasn't been posted yet, its a brilliant story

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8039240.stm

Basically, this taxi driver found a bag left in his cab containing $32,500 - left there by an old couple. Instead of taking off with it, he handed it in to the police and had it returned to the couple. A stupid thing, I hear you say?

Not in this case. A website was set up where people could donate to this extremely generous and honest taxi driver, and he's already racked up almost $15,000!

Be nice - good things might happen.
Wow, what a nice guy. Can't imagine many people would do such a noble thing; totally deserves the rewards.
Just heard this on the news Very honest man. Dont think many would of done the same.
I'd like to say I wouldn't have kept the money, but it sure would push my morals making the call..
did the cops pull an "oops" and steal any of the money?
i wouldn't have kept the money for fear of the old couple being in the mafia or something, or fake bills....i mean c'mon who carries that amount around with them????....hey you never know, and i'm too young to die
Just like Trump paying off a dudes mortgage when he helped fix a tyre on his limo

It doesn't take much thinking to take it to the police.

If someone just left 30 thousand in your taxi wouldn't you think the person would want it back? And surely it wouldn't be so hard to find the taxi driver.

What's beyond me is how someone can forget 30 000 in a car, if I'd have this kind of money with me, surely I wouldn't just 'forget it'.

Conclusion, taxi driver did the only thing he could and got a huge pile of money.
Something like that happens and you know it's too much money not to come around and bite you in the ass, there's going to be questions asked.

I'd have been mugged on my way to the police station, i'd have made sure of it, because I would have arranged it myself. Prefferably under CCTV.
If someone left that in my car I'd have a hard decision.. I wouldn't know what to do.
id take it to police too tough, i bet someone would notice if you go buy something with 30k cash
Yeah but they wouldn't notice as much if you bought 300 different $100 items.
"Be nice, you'll get rich!" - Well, until now he would be richer if he had kept the money.

Generally I am a very honest person too (I'd say, at least). But if dealing with such amounts of money you really need to have your principles. Thumbs up for this behaviour.

The thing is if you suddenly come into a large amount of money (IE illegally) is to not change your habbits or become extravagant or anything.. Keep the money as cash, don't make any out of line purchases apart from say, a new car perhaps as with the finance deals avalible the homeless dude could get himself a new Kia Picanto..

But yeah nearly all bank robbers get caught because they flash around loads of money and have things they wouldn't normally have had..

He found & returned 32500 USD, and as we speak, the donations are: 123.119 ARS(argentine peso).
= 33.114 U.S. dollars
The official site states he found $130.000 (ARS), so you might be right.
source.

Anyway, it`s impressive what being in the right place & the right time can do.
Perhaps it's a scam to get people to donate.
Like those "I can't afford to feed my kitten <insert photo of random kitten found on net>, please donate me all your monies" kind of websites?
He totally deserves the money that is being donated to him. That was super nice of him.

i thought about that too. i`d laugh my ass off if he haven`t signed some kind of contract or something with the "webdesigners".

Fixed

Plenty of free website hosting to be had, so that fix doesn't work....

I can't afford a decent camera at the moment, yet I do have a photography website, cost - $0.
Quote from Shadowww :Fixed

For a site like that a domain name is about £2.50 for 2 years, hosting would be around £10 a year.

As long as you make over £12.50 in donations - your in the profit.
