TrackIR 5
Hi gents.
Even if I have the feeling that TrackIR is (mistakenly) not very common/popular/vital here, as it is in Flight simming, here's just a heads up to the new TrackIR 5.

I have a TrackIR 4 (I also fly) and I must say I love it in LFS, it adds to the immersion factor big time.

Cheers.
I would love that. I've been trying to get Freetrack to work, but apparently my soldering skills suck and I can't get my LED's to work.

What's new in TrackIR5 though? Seems like it already worked pretty well in 4. Moar money!!!
Well, I guess you know this link, TrackIR5 features are there

Software is completely rewritten from scratch, and it really looks good. Tracking seems smoother even with TrackIR4.
Anyway, for TIR4 happy users like me, it can be hard to justify the upgrade and the new $$$ to invest...
Nonetheless, my TIR4 has been a super-good investment, and I can only reccomend it !!
Of course, you don't turn your head around while driving a car like you do when flying or dogfighting, but as already stated, it ADDS a lot anyway.
Go for it if you can afford one.
Hello, 1st post. I also use a TrackIR 4. Is there anyone who has upgraded from TrackIR 4 to 5? I'm wondering if there is a noticeable difference between them in actual use and if it's worth the $$$ to upgrade.
Quote from Ripley :Software is completely rewritten from scratch, and it really looks good. Tracking seems smoother even with TrackIR4.

Agreed it is smoother with the new sofware, I have used it for about six months now, and although moving my head so much (though it can be easily adjusted) is not natural in real life, I really don't notice it in use and actually does feel natural now.

Hate to drive without it.
