Oh, as I said I didn't host the server and I guess I wrongly assumed that the guy who does would have used such a feature if there was one. Thanks for pointing it out.
Sorry if this bug has already been noted, or if it has been in LFS for a while, but i have only just noticed it. I only tryed it with a couple of cars (only FXO done it) so i dont know specifically which cars it affects, but look at the edge of the wheel, and you can see through it. It seems the tyres bead is non-existent.
Currently using a 7600GS 256mb as my other cards are being repaired. Once there done, i will put them back in and see whether this bug is still there.
edit: I saw one guy mention he is having shadow problems with a 7600GS. I am also getting the shadow problems. Yet to try it with my other cards though (as mentioned above).
edit2: I dont just get this one the right front, as you can see i also get it on the left side. I suspose it would do it on the rear ones too, but as they cant turn, all you would see would be black from the inside of the arches.
Yes, i get that too, but only on the left wheel like you.
I also get this in the XFG interior. I would have used shift+U to take the shot, but when you get closer, they dissapear. Sometimes they have came up bright blue too. Very confusing.
p.s, just thought i would mention, its not a DDS problem. I've tryed it with the default XFG DDS files, and there still there.
I also use 7600 GS and don't have such problems, i also frequently switch drivers and no problem with any version. mind that the other 7600 problem was more fault of wine than windows drivers and 7600 itself... did u try to reinstall directx?
Can you name any? I think that you think it's InSim but InSim can be used at drift hosts as well. And the "cruise mode" is for training too, not only for cruising.
I won't even mention that steering lock mod is way cheaper to do than lfs suspension mods.
I won't even start explaining over again why 45 or 50 or more steering lock is not an advantage in racing. You must be hell of a driver if you make mistakes so bad, to need such steering lock.
And I won't even mention that there's a big chance you guys don't even use anything close to 900 degrees steering.
On the "!!! UER-Racing#3-Demo" server, at BL-Rallycross, car is XFG. When finished the race I pulled the handbrake and went sideways through the wall. Through the race the car had some streering damage (with centered direction the streering wheel was 45º to the left) if it is any help.
Almost everyday, about 80% of the time, when I disconnect from the Internet and play LFS offline, I get major FPS problems when running the game at full quality, even though my computer is pretty good. See my new PC's specs:
17 inch LCD monitor
Windows Vista Home Premium
CPU Pentium IV Dual Core 6.0GHz (3.0GHz per core)
4GB RAM DDR3
3 320GB HDDs (Total Space: 960GB)
NVidia GeForce 9800 GT (hacked for better performance): 1GB VRAM
As you can see, my PC specs are relatively good, but I STILL get FPS problems for some reason. Anyone can help me?
Are there any other known issues that affect only the test patches and not Z?
There's the front left tyre AA issue, but that's only visible on certain views+graphics settings so not that major.
Bugs unrelated to the test patch (ie ones that happen in Z as well) should be in the bug reporting section, not here.
Edit:
If any bugs you find in Z13 etc are reproducible, test it in Z as well. Then, only if it doesn't apply to Z but does in Z13, post it here
There is no dual core Pentium 4 which is what Shadowww said. Pentium Ds (of which you can get dual core processors) are not Pentium IVs.
Danny LFS said he has a Pentium IV dual core, which I can assure you that he doesn't. He *probably* has either a Pentium 4 HT 3.0 (Northwood), 3.0E (Prescott) or a 530/530J/531/630/631 (also Prescotts) which are hyper-threaded and shows up as having two logical cores in the task manager or he has a Pentium D 830, 925, or 930, all of which have two physical cores.
This is because AI / many cars take a lot of CPU horsepower, which a P4 cannot provide. If you upgrade the processor you will get better fps (btw, 3ghz dual core =/= 6 ghz. LFS is single threaded so only one core is used, so its 3ghz. and even if it wasnt it'd still be 3 ghz I wish I had a 9.99ghz tricore, but it doesn't multiply.)
