The Most Anally Retentive Goofs On IMDB
For anyone who doesn't know, The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) has a section allowing users to submit "Goofs" for films. The goofs are things like continuity errors (for example, the level of coffee in a cup changes during a scene when it shouldn't, or a car made in 1980 is featured in a film supposed to be set in 1970). The goofs section can be found below the cast list in a section called "Fun Stuff". This thread is meant for people to post the most anally retentive (nitpicky) goofs on IMDB. If you're going to post any goofs that are in the 'Spoiler' section or give away parts of the plot, please put in a spoiler clause.

I have a couple to start:

Quote from Dances With Wolves :Anachronisms: The apple beside ... n developed at that time.

Quote from The Da Vinci Code :Factual errors: Whilst in Engl ... he petrol cap of the car.

I've seen some goofs listed they aren't actually goofs, just people not knowing what they were talking about. I've also noticed goofs in films where they haven't been listen, which I am too embarrassed to mention now as it'll show what a cock I am.

Such as the The Man Who Knew Too Little, the Vauxhall Omega had an autobox, but the Police issue was manual.

I could list various firearms and vehicular goofs. Sad as it is, I can't help but notice cock ups in movies and I have to sit on my hands when I do because it always pisses everyone when I mention it.

Oh, or computer goofs, in season 1 of Grey's Anatomy you saw it a lot. The "heart monitor" software would crash and all you'd see is the Windows XP desktop.

[edit: oh there is a good one in episode 2 of Firefly, when Wash rides the Mule (ATV) down the loading ramp into a hired goon you can see the cameraman to the right of him filming a different angle.]

Heh, every second film has a weapon firing after you could clearly see the slider is locked back (=no ammo left)... The other half has an unlimited clip-size hack on...
I got this one when I watched it in the cinema :nerd:

Quote from Indiana Jones & :Factual errors: In the transition scenes showing Indy and Mutt flying from the United States to Peru, we see a single-engine biplane in Pan American colors. That plane is a Soviet-built Antonov An-2, which never would've flown in PAA colors, particularly in the politically charged climate of the 1950s.

One of my favourite firearms-related ones is in The Matrix, in the lobby scene - Neo is shown firing a sub-machine gun (which fire pistol ammo) but in the next shot from behind him, longer, rifle casings are shown hitting the ground.
There was one from Tokyo Drift where the Spoiler was there in one scene but not in the next one. :o

Yes, you do get that a lot, you also get a lot of people who put their thumb on the slide when shooting. I remember watching one show (I forget it's name) where they engage the safety on a Sig Sauer P226, which wouldn't have been an issue, but the P226 doesn't have a safety.

The wheels also changed when you had bullet cam near the front left wheel on the Evo.

you mean when he was first learning to drift on the docks? We're in the same boat.

Yeah that's where.

Is this one of the scenes where he's learning to drift in the Evo? Because if it is the Spoiler gets knocked off when he hits something.
It's in the Car park. The spoiler appears and disappears either way when it's gone one minute and there the next or whatever.
Battle of Brittain

Factual errors: The cast credits are stated to be in alphabetical order and are actually presented in three groups in alphabetical order within each group, but in the second group the name John Baskcomb is mis-alphabetized, and so is Alf Jungermann in the third group.

Demolition Man
Factual errors: When a firearm is on display in a museum, not only will it be devoid of ammunition, but it will not be in working condition, even if it was loaded.

(not true anyway, i once climbed on a tank at a war museum, 2 weeks later when they started restauration they noticed that it still had a working turret AND it was loaded)

They will remove at least one component to prevent it from being used should it be stolen, the removed part is kept safe elsewhere so the piece can be returned to working order.

With tanks it isn't such an issue as it isn't really an item you could easily use without being told and you're hardly going to try and steal one.
Most films with sports sequences include one rules error/inconsistency - including six seconds appearing on the clock and a missed FG attempt being successful in The Longest Yard, and when the QB throws the ball at the linebacker, hitting him in the wedding vegetables, that should have been a 15 yard penalty.

EDIT : It's an old film (I'm talking about the original here), but I've put the spoiler in white text as I heartily encourage scrabbling around for a DVD of it if you haven't seen it, it occasionally gets shown on the TV film channels (I saw it on Film4).
