Hehe, I allways wondered why people doing insane times online compared to WR's and such. Maybe it's because of the extra adrenaline they get by racing races, I don't know either way impressive to race combo's where people goes below WR's by doing some insane driving.
Nope. I have seen people racing solo, with clean lines and no draft still doing insane times. Of course the drafting/cutting is a good way to get good times, but I'm pointing to the aliens that does WR times just all the time without using any "help"
Alltho I must admit I HATE seeing people in the TBO class that does the macro shifting. No shift latency + full boost + no clutch heat is anoying.. Now I do know that I am not the fastest shifter, but seeing people catching up on long straights when I have faster corner exit kinds of make me want to stap kittys
Either way, there are a lot of people capable to beat WR's out there, but doesn't botter to do hotlaps.
I don't think so. Seeing people around you will push you to go faster than them. I used to both raced an hotlapped a lot, and I also know when you're hotlapping you need to be very strong in your head, because you're often distracted by your personnal problems, and you're always scared of the idea of a possible mistake, especially on the last sector of a very fast lap.
most world records are far, very far from being impressive. it doesn't even take one of the aliens to beat those times online, without any cutting or drafting.
You're too cautious, that's costing you a lot of time. It looks like you're releasing the gas when you shift, you don't need to do that in the BF1 (or FOX and FO8). You need to just go for it more, don't worry about going too fast through a turn, when you're going too fast you'll know about it.
Two tips I can give you is that you should download and watch the WR lap. Go here, look at your Online Racers Stats, click the text where it says WR-Diff +(time here). Since you don't have a lap set in mutiplayer for this you can go to S2 Hotlaps, click the WR tab then find the specific combo. The second tip is to hit '4', this will show you a racing line. This line is *not* the fastest line, it's the line that the AI take. It will help you get a bit faster though.
