Then you are not paying attention. On the start of the game you can find out that they are serbians (When Roman says, "it's better then my Serbian", meaning that Niko speaks better english then Roman do serbian, since he's so long in the US and all..)
They talk and curse troughout the game on serbian (but ok, you can't know that, you don't understand the language) and they fight AGAINST russians in the game

i got the idea this way. Niko used to live in russia, he lent some money and haves a dept that hasnt been payed to Dimitri? im not sure, been a while from the time i played the story

DX9 does not support AA with deferred shading, which GTA uses. DX10 is needed. It isn't due to DX9, but the lighting technique they use where AA only works in DX10. They even said that on a interview on IGN.

thing is, the benchmark doesnt do its job good imo.
while i get around 65 fps in the benchmark i only get 40 fps average when in the "real game".
and view distance 7? is that 2 car lenghts?

Go online, free mode, with police on. Then get some buddies, kit yourselfs out with all the guns and ammo you can find, and go to war. You will notice the game turns into a slideshow when you fill a street with cop cars and blow them all up.

that sometimes is starting to happen when you do the bridge with alot of lights and on the same time see the town at night. really annoying when you do a police chase or smthing

You pick up one of your buddys to go for a cruise. You put some music on and take it easy. You come up to some traffic lights which are red, and park up patiently wait for them to turn green. Next thing you know, all the cars behind you are trying to get past, scratching your car and cursing at you.

Does that annoy anyone else? I know there made to do it incase there is an abandoned car in the middle of the road or something, but its stupid they do it while your in the car waiting for the lights to change.

Yeah that's the same thing i'm getting. Every single GTA i played has that problem. I guess you're just supposed to drive fast and dangerously in GTA.
Same thing with driving through a red light while the cops are right behind you. They don't do anything, unless you crash into them.

That's what I love about other games like the Getaway and Mafia, the cops react to speed and traffic rules.

If you hit a cop in GTA head on or straight behind, most of the time they don't do anything, but if they scrub you a tiny bit with their sides, sirens start blaring.

My new fav pastime is sitting under the flyover on Charge Island(just to the right of the water)and snipe chopper pilots and LMFAO at the noob cops jumping off the flyover to their death LOL! you can hear them scream.mad

If i remember rightly, im about half way through the pidgeons. Some of them are a real bugger.

Btw csu, if you want something funny to do with cops. You know that cafe where jacob likes to go, with the pool/snooker? On that road, theres a small beach. You can make your way down there via the long stair rail. Make your way onto the beach and about 50 metres away from the stairs. (It helps if your using cheats) Enable one star on your wanted level. Soon, a load of coppers will appear and start making there way to you, but they dont shoot. For some reason, they just jump straight off the stairs and slam 50ft below onto the sand, screaming as they go down. Brilliant .

Edit: Another thing i like doing for you to try. Get a helicopter and hover it underneath a bridge. Enable a star or two, so cops start appearing. They jump over the wall of the bridge to try and arrest you...only to end up in your helicopters blades.

maybe the fact that atleast the normal xbox cant run it perfectly.(not sure about elite or any else version) for me in some points the fps gets so low its hard to play. for example drive some of the briges at night. or get alot of cop cars behind you and blow them all up
