Everybody say thank you for new patch.I dont unerstand why?Because is easier to drive?Because powerfull cars is very easy now?
Before i need lots of time to learn how to drive formula 1.That was good and realistic, almost simulation. Now we have easy arcade game like quake.
My friend buy this game before this patch destroy everything. He is mad now.I wanna buy too, but no more.
That was nice job
Try to disable traction control in the BF1
Also, you can easily make a more aggressive setup - the default ones are rather easy to drive, except the FZ50. I had a great set for it in the old version, no idea if its still as nice now.
Yep.I know about Traction in new car,but i talk about formula v8.That was very nice bolid.Hard to control, hard to learn.I go to my friend every day and we learn this baby. Now is like children car.
So bad
..keep in mind its a simulator.. go drive in an F1 car, and if you were sitting in same spot, it may seem realistic.. but when driving it, you have all the gforces against you.. the formula isnt that hard to drive no.. but when your driving the real thing, im sure its tons harder with all those forces keeping you from wanting to turn
You think because it is easier than what you were used to, that makes it less realistic . The understeer the cars were getting at low speeds was silly, I remember one of my leauge races I was shifting down to first in one of the corners at SO, just because I couldn't get the front in.
Anyway if they are so easy now I guess you and your "friend" will have no problem getting all the WRs
It doesn't matter if the patch makes things easier, the good drivers will still be good drivers, the poor drivers will still be poor, the average drivers will still be average, and the aliens will still be aliens. It just means we can all have a lot more fun with the cars now pushing them right to the limit.
My point is that, although the cars may be 'easier' to drive. In the end it's still a hard task to drive them on the limit and beat a WR on one lap, yet alone set a good race pace lapping consistently fast times. It's easy to just go drive a few laps around the track and say "OMG this is so easy, it can't be realistic" but then your not pushing to the limit. I dare say most of us could drive a Formula One car around a track and it would seem easy, until you step on it and try hammer in a decent time.
I think the patch is a massive improvment to all the low speed grip problems, of that there is no doubt. I'd say the cars now have almost exactly the right amount of grip in 99.9% of scenarios. The other major flaw of the tyre physics, the way they lost and regained traction, doesn't feel quite right to me either - they are very progressive (like road tyres, but even with radial slicks), and the 'snap' still doesn't exist. The single seaters are a bit too easy to slide (though this may be more of a lack of aero fidelity that actual tyre behaviour), and in genera it's now very easy to drive on and above the limit (though just as difficult to be an alien I guess). It's not perfect, and the problems are now the other side of perfect from what they were, though closer to the ideal.
In terms of tyres it's a good step in the right direction, and perhaps if a solution to some of the less ideals can be found relatively quickly a tyre patch can be brought out to rectify them before hotlaps and setups become too widespread. The community seems to be on a downward spiral at the moment, and I can only hope that it will improve as the dust settles on the new patch.
Keiran - I agree, I bet drving an F1 car (especially a 2006 one with all the fancy electronics and low power to grip ratio [according to Alonso, who says they're way to easy now]) would be very very easy. I think it's highly likely we could drive reasonabl quickly, although fear would keep us a lot slower than we can manage in LFS.
Totally agree. Over few days I'm trying to get as close to wr as possible with FOX on Blackwood but it's so so damn hard. My time is 1:09.61 and improving all the time but I dont think I will get that close heh. So Makumba if its so easy to drive go ahead and make a wr. We'll see. It is easy when you run slow times but once you push that car to the limit you will see how hard it is.
Hard does NOT equal realistic. Just because it's easier to drive does not mean it is not realistic. Also, you mentioned that you were in school. Being in school still, I seriously DOUBT you have ever driven a Formula 3000. As such, you are in no place to say that the FV8 is not realistic. (The FV8 is an F3000, not an F1 car BTW)
S1H is just everything that this guy needs. I wonder if he can compete with that massive understeery behaviour when you were too fast......
BTW, Makumba, what is your PB on Blackwood, for example in GTi?
And I think I didnt hear the name of your licensed friend, can you repeat it for me? I am not suspecting you from cracking, I just want to check his times on LFSW
So... I think you, Makumba, should think about the fact that it's a alpha version. It'll be developped the next time. I would say the next years. I don't really now much of S1H but it was the final Simulation of LFS S1. I missed to download the demo, but I read a lot about it on AOL, and on some other homepages and saw it on TV. The second fact is that there are real race drivers who try to improve it when I didn't misunderstood the TV interview. It's only S2 Alpha 0.5 (T), it is not S2 Full.
Well.. Easy to drive is a good thing in many ways.. I don't quite like everything yet but yes.. the BF1 is easy to drive.. Until you realise that a laptime of 57 seconds at Blackwood is 3 seconds off the pace. Auch.
So a car which understeers at such slow speeds was more realistic than what we have now ... and please don't advertise the fact your even looking for a crack for the new patch on the official forums illepall
