Hey race fans !
The penultimate round of the 2009 iCON Touring Car Championship is Sunday, May 24th from Kyoto National Reversed. As usual, our live coverage will start with the reserve shootouts from 1700 UTC. Commentary will be provided by myself, Jonathan Palmer, along with Michael Booth and Michael Passingham. We look forward to bringing you the coverage.
Coverage will be streamed live on Livestream (formerly Mogulus) at this link: http://www.livestream.com/itcc
After Nolan Scott's bad luck at South City, his required ballast has been cut nearly in half, so he will be able to go a bit easier without the extra weight. His Championship rival, Rudy van Buren is tied on points with Nolan, both with 88. Frederik Enersen is third with 80. The top three in points are all within striking distance. Fourth and Fifth are still currently mathematically eligible, but severe mishaps for the top three are required there. Paddock information indicates that Rudy may miss this round due to real-life racing commitments...tune it to see what happens !
Regardless of what happens with the championship, the racing on the track is sure to be intense. Kyoto National Reversed is a very fast track, with the long oval portion of the lap leaving multiple slipstreaming opportunities. It's a setup challenge, though - you need high downforce in most of the infield, but want it as low as you can for top speed on the oval section. How will drivers cope ? How will ballast affect speeds ?
Tune in to find out ! We look forward to seeing you all this evening !
