why dont people play it online????
I got suprised when I first played s2 online...there was nobody playing it!!! but lots of guys were playing the demo version....argh that sucks!!...i have bought the game to play it online with lots of people....Are only the special events played online?? like endurance races???...what disapointement...

Ive got two questions for you guys...I have created a new team but my friends cant join....they get a message like this: failure host, or something like that....am I doing anything wrong??

the other question is: how can I drive that formula f8 car??? do I need a special setup for it??
P.S. I play LFS by using a keyboard, should I have a wheel to drive the formula f8 car??

what are you talking about?

currently there are 309 demo players online and 294 licensed racers online.

are you filtering the servers properly?

yes you need a wheel to drive the FO8 properly but a good set might make it playable on keyboard. Sometimes S2 servers are dead it all depends on what the time is in europe and america. There is a graph at the top of this page that tells you how many people are currently playing.

i think maybe u are using the old patch?

i remember when i first started, i wanted to race someone, but the servers were completely different, we found that it was the patch i was using was out of date

Please try to drive the car offline first. By asking the questions you are, you are implying that you have never driven the FO8. Don't let the first time you drive it be online when a racing is ongoing. It will turn out to be a bad experience for everybody.

Get to the point where you can actually control the car and keep it on the track. Then give it a go online. Have fun

An exact error message, exactly when it occurs, and exactly what you're doing when it happens would be helpful here. I'd suggest you make a topic specifically about this (with the proper details) in the Technical Assistance forum.

I would say you need a wheel to play ANY of the cars. Even attempting to play any of the faster cars with a keyboard is lunacy, IMO. You can get a brand new Logitech wheel for $50 most anywhere. You can get one even cheaper second hand. Spend the money, it's well worth it.

Hi!
There is alot fast guys how use keybords for driving. But you will need alot of practise (even with a wheel). Start with the slower cars when you go online and practise the fast ones offlline.

I would still recommend not to drive RWD with keyboard, but hey, some people really seem to drive it (and actually not too slow).
The FO8 doesnt make any sense with kb though, you will not have fun unless you want to make burnouts all the day long
