My Pc reboots itself after the windows logo.
And I cant boot from the cd because my bd-rom from LG isnt in the boot device select section...
Anybody know what to do?

Cry like a little girl.
You could always move the harddrive to another computer and then backup all your important files and do a fresh install of xp

try going into safe mode and turn off "automatic restart after failure" (r-click my computer > properties > advanced? > startup and shutdown options or something... i forget)

Did Windows come pre-installed on the PC and is there a recovery option?

Did you all even read my post..
I cant start xp because my pc reboots before it starts, safe work doesnt work too.
And it wont recognise my bd-rom so how could i reinstall windows?

Did your PC come with a recovery CD or is there a recovery option after the bios screen?

BIOS should include native CD drive support, unless it's a *very* old PC. I'd say check all the connections to the drive and if that doesn't work, get another CD drive.

I dont know...ill try the old cdrom again, and if that works ill reformat it...

Why not take out the HDD, set it to slave and put it in another PC temporarily to retrieve your data and do a clean install

Or, use one of the many live-USB applications,

Or, USe an external USB CD drive...

could be that the drive is dying. i'd run some diagnostic software on it before you try reformatting it.

edit: the hiren's boot cd has all those gizmos, google it.

You mine while setting the cdrom into another computer....that would be a possibility...

If you can get into the bios settings(i think its F2 or delete key on most pc's), then you should be able to change the boot order around so that the PC can try and boot from the CD rom drive and read the CD, as it may be that the current settings will always attempt to boot from the HDD first, and not the CD rom drive.

Run "fdisk /f" on your hard drive, it should fix the problem. You probably have to put it in another PC and do that though, since you may not be able to get to a command prompt in your current situation.

just for curiousity, plus my HDD is nearly dead i think, what does that fdisk command do??

I run the chkdsk command every now and again which helps speed it up a bit, but im wondering if fdisk would be better.

fdisk is for partitions, but i don't know that switch either.

did your computer get fried by a surge spike? it seems rather weird that your bios doesn't detect the BD drive... did it work before?

Im just thought if you can have a fiddle with the settings in there it may be able to recognise it.

I have 2 identical pioneer DVD drives on my pc, one was recognised in the bios and one wasnt, eventhough they were identical drives and the settings were all the same.

SO all i did was set the line in the bios (secondary master i think it was) to <CD> instead of <AUTO>, saved changes and the pc then recognised it.

I have got a couple of spare drives i will post to you if you like, but there are old school IDE drives, so this may not help you.

is the BD Sata or IDE?

On XP you must install an UDF 2.5 driver for the BDROM to work. There is a native UDF 2.5 driver on Vista and Win7.
The Toshiba one seems to work fine in most cases, but there are other ones.
However it's not supposed to be installed on non Toshiba systems but it's working fine if you use this trick:
