Hi, this is very frustrating and making me mad. Probably simple as it is but I can't figure out how to do this. How do I make the DDS file from: LFS/Skin dds/xrt_default into a jpg file where I can photoshop it and stuff? Thanks

You can dowmnload the skin viewer from lfs site and open the jpg
or you download the master skinnerz templates
or u dowmnload "paint.net" wich can open dds.

Hi all, im getting equally frustrated trying to sort out a hi res skin, how do i upload them?
I have made one into a 2048x2048 but it wont upload via LFSworld...?
Any help would be hugely appreciated

What part of:

Accepted skins are:
-JPG format (use the .JPG extension)
-car skins, must be 1024*1024 pixels
-helmet skins, must be 512*512 pixels
-no bigger than 400Kb (bigger images are accepted, but will be recompressed automatically to fit in 400Kb. But for the sake of quality, you should really compress them yourself.)

Sorry buddy i understand the criteria, im not stupid, and have made many skins at 1024x1024 res...
But i have read in places about hi res skins, (2048x2048) i have placed more money into my LFS account and enabled the downloading of hi res skins in-game, but now i want to upload them, can i not do that then?
Whats the point in enabling an option to download hi res skins if no-one can upload them?

Perhaps you should've read the rest of the stuff on the car skins part of LFS world!

The uploaded skin's dimensions will automatically be optimized for most LFS users by resizing car skins to 512px and helmet skins to 256px.
Both HIRES and OPTIMUM skin versions will be stored and are available for people to auto-download from inside LFS.
The OPTIMUM downloads are free of charge. The HIRES versions require you to have at least £1 GBP credit on your account.

So it's quite simple - high res skins are 1024px and are what you pay for - after all, how could you download 2048px skins when you're not allowed to upload them?
