really is just... Wow. That's ALL CG? Unbelievable.
Holy jebus! :jawdrop:
Absolutely amazing! 4months of rendering non stop.....
Nice but...

I have seen 50 renders over the past year that were amazing but no one puts it to any good use?!?
Masterpiece...

what?
Good that you've seen over 50 good renders. Bad CGI is common these days.
Put to a good use? What? As in claiming them as your own and selling them?

What I am triying to point out is that people make alot of Renders. Wich is good, awesome etc. but if these people would use it to benefit from it like Gaming or Movie Special effects it would be much better.

Maybe it's rendering over 7 months? :s
That looks awesome!
Wish we have games with that look soon

.

Or maybe a power outage after 5 months, UPS failed..

The limitations come from hardware, not from what is actually possible to design. Those awesome looking CG renders and CG movies take an incredible time to render (4 months, in the case of this particular movie). And it's not exactly long; it's barely over a minute long. Keep in mind it's stated that it was rendered on an 8 core mac, which is more than what people have to usually game on...

To actually have a video game featuring such lighting quality, high poly models (that must be over 50,000), high quality textures, etc. would require power that probably no single computer, even super computer has. Think about it, we have to get from one frame per hour to 25+ frames per second. We'll probably get there, but it'll take time and huge advances in hardware.

Wish we have NASA supercomputers in every house soon
Tok only like 10-20 years to get computers faster, smaller and common compared to the old house-big-computers

I keep on dreaming

Eh... what? I just don't really see much special in it. Forza 3 and GT5 have better detailed cars, and they are less cartoony.
holy crap, rendering 4 months non-stop

if you think this is cartoony, you have never seen a waxed car in bright light
and no, they dont, make sure the little HD button is on

LOL you MUST be joking.

the headllight assembly on that porsche would have more poly then a whole car in GT5.

yeah. im my option theres no-way that we could use so high quality models on this day electronics. maybe in near future but now having a model like that on a game feals just...impossible
I hope he joked about that
Either way, car does shine that much if they are completely washed and waxed. Look closely on the video, real close, it's brilliant. Not one single mistake, it's just graphic porn all the way.

To be honest, there seem to be some inaccuracies at the back of the car, doesn't look 100% authentic
It's made on a computer, do I need to say more?
There's approximately 60 seconds of rendered content in the video. It took 4 months to render it on an 8 core Mac. I can appreciate the effort that's gone into making it and it looks pretty good (the departure from the hangar doesn't look very realistic though), but it's not that much better than some of the games that are being rendered at 60+ fps on current games consoles.

No, i mean, the rest of the car looks spot on. You can achieve very good results when modelling cars with care.
