What do you mean more memory? With that "low memory" it's still producing better looking and more physically demanding games then 360, so i don't get what you mean..
And xbox breaks down in alot of cases even mine broke and i hadt get it repared after 6 monts the funny thing is i raraly palyed on it then you know its crap..
when somthing like that happends under those comnditions.
As much as i am a GT fan I love forza but hate the XBOX.
Althow i have both now And im eager to try Forza 3 as wel as GT5 but sadly i wont get to try forza# with wheel since they wont support my DFGT (microsoft arsholes)
And while GT5p is a goos step ahead of GT4 its nowehere near realisem i can tel you that
It does...compared to 360 it lacks power in a lot of areas. Fanboyism? Maybe you missed the part where I said I own a PS3? They looked slightly better...meaning there was and still is a difference between the PS3 and 360 texture quality...its not me making it up, it's facts...The games you are talking about are exclusives that have been written especially for that hardware...I'm talking about multiplatform...
no...the software is written to take full advantage of cell by offloading the load from the gpu to the cpu, which isn't very traditional. almost using cell as a crutch. devs have talked about ps3 being difficult to program for, they have also talked about the lack of gpu power. i'm not just popping off misinformation, these are things that have been discussed.
Rafa Benitez visits the LFS Forum! (probably lost on you, but he's a stupid football manager who lost the plot and produced 'facts' which werent facts, and looked a prat, on top of it having a negative effect on his teams results)
Thats not a fact, it was about a year or so ago, but the vast majority of multi-platform developers have now realised if they're going to port to the PS3 in the same manner they had in the past (eg EAs port for Orange Box) then the PS3 community will not buy it because its terrible, so they're wasting their time. What they've now started doing is the lead development is done on PS3 and ported to 360 because its much easier and doesnt produce crap results. So the FACT is that development is done on PS3 for the majority of multi-plat games, those which want to profit from the PS3 side anyway.
Additionally, the PS3 doesnt lack graphical power, it lacks simplicity for cross-plat dev teams to spend a moment to understand the achetecture to get the best results from it. Exclusive titles are looking considerably better than cross-plat because they're taking the time to utilise the technology, rather than wanting results ASAP.
Considering the PS3 is graphically inferior as your suggesting, its bizarre how the games look better than 360 exclusives, the only time it wins arguments is on cross-plat, where the PS3 isnt fully utilised so its hardly a fair claim of superiority is it.
I have to admit, it does seem rather odd, memory isnt an expensive technology, but i guess the answer to that is business in general, if the price is £1 per item, it equates to at least £10 onto the end cost. So the inclusion of twice as much memory could have put the price up even more, and at a time when they're still supposedly making a loss on every console sold, every penny counts.
Still, if the results they've produced on the PS3 is with insufficient memory, i'd love to see what it could do with more! And if the reason you purchased a 360 over a PS3 is because it doesnt have as much memory, you sir are the quite possibly the single most stupid person on the planet. There may be many reasons to pick a 360 over a PS3, lack of memory is a pathetic attempt at a reason, not to mention a lie.
OMG, stop it. That "inferior" graphic card is producing much better looking exclusives then 360, your argument is beyond stupid. Have you played Killzone 2? Give me a 360 exclusive that has such graphics and physics. Otherwise stop with stupidity. As for multiplatforms Paul gave you an explanation.
I will agree with you. There's these shitty ports that 360/PC devs push over to PS3 (Fallout 3 or Orange Box anyone?), but the exclusives (MGS4... Resistance 2, GT5) look bloody gorgeous.
Agreed, and I don't really see this as xbox vs playstation because honestly I don't see how people could even suggest that the 360 is better than the playstation. Saying that 360 games look better than PS3's is quite a silly thing to say really when you compare PS3's exclusives such as GT5 to the 360 exclusives then it's quite clear that the PS3 is far superior in terms of graphical quality. I had the option of getting a 360 myself and I nearly did but I decided to be patient and wait for the PS3 because it promised to be better and in my opinion it has delivered excellently.
I just know to stick to Sony products. Sure they sometimes have slow starts, but look what is the only Last-Gen console to still be developed for...
Right, PS2.. becuase you know... everyone and their dogs has one.
Sony just seems to be a safe bet for consoles. They're decently reliable, and don't have millions of quirks, and the games seem to be of higher quality than "GENERIC FPS 5" that Xbox developers seems to churn out and Xbox gamers go "OMG BEST GAME EVER" every other month.
Which is also why I'm off to buy a PSP on Monday, for GT-PSP and MGS Rising, and well.. a replacement to my well-used iPod as portable video.
Who cares about graphics for consoles anyway? My brother has a PS3, I have an Xbox360, and the difference in graphics is amazing - the PS3 just wins hands down, the quality of the graphics is very obvious even when his PS3 is hooked up to a crappy 90's TV and my XBOX is hooked up to a decent 22" TFT.
It really doesn't matter anyway though, since the quality of a console is based on its exclusives and not its fancy graphics. I have my PC for graphics, and neither of those shitty consoles is ever going to touch that
I'm not being neutral. I have a very exact opinion regarding the PS3 vs. Xbox360 debate, but i won't join the discussion, unless it's back to GT5(P) physics again.
Here is a list of the current games exclusive only to the PS3. I count 160. This totally excludes all the other cross platform games.
Then I look at the quality of some of these exclusives... LBP, GT5, MGS4, Resistance 1 and 2, Haze, Motorstorm, Uncharted 1 and 2, Killzone 2... What does the 360 have? Forza, GoW and Halo 3. Lovely.
I'll be honest and say I was just trying to troll people, but I'll actually respond because it might become constructive at some point:
LBP - Not a game
GT5 - Not out yet
MGS4 - It's a movie
Motorstorm - Mentioning a generic game sorta re-enforces the 'no games' point.
Resistance 1, 2, Haze, Killzone 2 - lol, console shooters. (and no, Halo isn't good either, in fact Halo is the most overrated series of this decade, it actually disgusts me how much false credit that ball of steaming mediocrity gets)
Uncharted 1 - Haven't played it, looks like it might be decent, won't judge. Uncharted 2 isn't out yet.
I wouldn't exactly say I'm an Xbox fanboi though. There are exactly 3 exclusives I enjoyed enough to warrant €60 on my xbawks: Ace Combat 6, Forza 2 and Fable 2. Depending on your preferences, all these games might be just as easily dismissed as all the PS3 exclusives you mentioned.
GoW (and the sequel) I enjoyed, but I borrowed it from a friend and wouldn't dish out cash for it, the same goes for nearly every other exclusive for either console.
In the end it comes down to personal preference. For me personally, the PS3 has no games; not one. My brother sat me down for InFamous the other day, and after 10 minutes I just threw the controller onto his couch and wanted to play some SF4 or whatever. It's just generic crap and it's been done a hundred times - might as well play a game like SF4 that doesn't beat around the bush with its classical gameplay.
I did the research, I searched Wiki for all the exclusives of each console. The PS3 has 160 exclusives, the 360 has 171 exclusives. The 360 has also been out much longer than the PS3, and the only interesting games I saw for the 360 were those, with Halo 3 being the most over-rated piece of crap ever. The PS3 has more interesting looking exclusives, in my opinion. That part is not debating, it is my opinion. Try not to get them confused.
I really dont care for console FPS, but Killzone had to be purchased, if that had come out on the PC then without doubt i'd have gone with that, but its a brilliant game. Havent been online with the full game, took part in the beta and its good, im more interested in the story mode myself. BF2/2142 is the only FPS ive gone online with.
As for GT5 cars flipping, i have to say i doubt it, its probably asking a little too much really. Unless its an entirely new approach, and they actually have a real world physics engine in place, i suspect it'll be canned physics and flipping the car wont be something they'll have pre-programmed into the game as an action.
I cant say it'll bother me at all, there or not its never stopped me buying it in the past and when all the other alternatives are so horrificly arcady and cheesy its unlikely i'll be moving away anytime soon anyway.
Too much.. meh, they wear that "real driving simulator" slogan for ages now, and their cars can't freakin flip over, i really don't know what's up with that Maybe i ask too much, but close to LFS physics, proper damage on all cars (not just WRC or Nascar) and that's it. Man, what game would that be..
The exclusives are a strong point for PS3, but the general problems is besides these exclusives, the games shared between the platform are very similiar in performance and quality - with 360 games being cheaper.
This mean for most popular games you will find more friend playing on it on the 360, plus xbox live is stilll a easier way to go online, xbox is a better platform if you want to do casual gaming with friends.
Exclusives are well and all but gamers have preferences, which means if they don't like an RPG they may never be interested no matter how epic it is, and that limited the interest since you can't be occupied solely with great exclusives alone, you also want "good" games in your desired genre for the sake of variety, and that's when the exclusive advantage is lost.
Plenty of friends over here have both consoles, while they always go out in a heartbeat when RE5 and MGS is out, after they finish it within days and completed the epic journey, it's back to 360 for the daily gaming, you know Halo, Guitarhero, L4D, WWE SvD, Winning Eleven sort of stuff, while the PS3 start collecting dust until the next epic exclusive arrives(which is not very often).
The point is exclusives are like main events, no matter how big it is it is still only one game, and for most genre you can only get that much out of one game, especially with console shooters there's not much replay value except when there's good online play. So when PS3 win the exclusive war the Xbox have the rest of the market, with lower prices, similiar quality and more diversity.
eye to eye PS3 is a better console of course, but you don't buy a console to worship it's power, you buy it because you want to play it.
