Bug or hack ?
Hi,

I have been running a dedi demo server for more than year and never had this one before, nor any kind of graphical glitch / video card problem.
Please take a look at this : screenshot.
Before the writings went to show, every connected player included me playing 'local' session experienced a biiiig lag, and the the whole display froze for 3 seconds.
The message on the panel is attached to every tree and invites me (fat-oil) for a twin drift session, kind of not random thing to me. The red writing changed and first was some kanji signs like nicknames often show, so i guess it is/was hacker's nick.
The exploit lasted 3 minutes before everything came back to nice green trees, without restarting anything.

I thought LFS was a secured game, do I miss something or can people hack servers as easily ?
Is there any tool to rely on to avoid this ?

thanx for you kind advices.
did i post in wrong place ?
is this taboo subject ?

howdy, some reaction would be nice, thanx.

It's a bug in your game, the DDS file for something else has been loaded instead of the tree texture
Z13.....?
Quote from AtomAnt :Z13.....?

He said he had this bug, and back in October there was no Z13. So it´s not test patch related.

He should have added a poll.
am running dedi Z3.
seen your reports, this is a bug, so might it be. I am then very lucky to have had the bug with the "Fat oil - Twin ???" message, what a strange texture ! but ok, magic happens.

nice to read you, thanx
It just loaded part of chat instead of tree.

Its happened two times to me fat-oil.
At least at your ss, the track can be seen as a "road". I was not able to determine where the road starts and where it ends.
Its like all dds files stick around randomly.
Both happened after sending the LFS to background and browsing the web for a while (approx. one hour or so).
After that, I restart the LFS and everything was ok.
