Colour Blind?
Hey community,
I am absolutley shocking with colours so I need opinions ..
I have been making a website for jwardy to host his songs on etc etc.. The main area we need is, The two sidebars and the centre is where we need colour(grey and white at the moment). Please post your opinion on what colour you think would work for each and post the code if you could..
Cheers in advance,
Andy

How can you be half colour blind?

I am terrible with colours, I am colour blind, however, I also think I am colour dyslexic, because I just can't say "that is brown", my brain just doesn't recognise the colour.

My missus asked me to go to the local DIY store and get some "lilac" paint, I had NO clue what paint was "lilac" in colour, so I had to ask one of the bods in store to pick out a lilac for me.

If they had paint named "lilac", that would be ok, but they were all called things like "cats paw", and "elephants breath" etc etc

Half colour blind is just a decription kinda. I can only tell the different colours, i can tell illuminus colours and bright colours cant really tell the difference from dark to black colours .. So i can tell the difference between some, near half

Hahaha.
If you think about it, that was rather mean.
Well, thats just weird if u cant recognize colors (no offnense). But, be creative. Look on your desk and find stuff in different colors and then just match them. I did, but that was just for fun or something (games with me and myself XD). Like, yellow and gray is cool.

i dident mean any offence . i was only asking
It's actually reasonably common to be half-color blind I think. I know two people who are not totally color blind, but can't discriminate between red and green. I don't know anyone who is totally color-blind.

Myself, I'm half smelling-blind? I can't smell about half the things other claim to smell... not that that's a bad thing when the bus is following a natural fertilizer truck with all the windows down. But sometimes I miss it when something's supposed to smell good.

I'm partially colour-blind too. It's very common, especially in males. It's a bit of a handicap when you're a designer.
My science teacher is half colour blind.
His science teacher?
I get blue and green mixed up... Its not really colour-blindness, its more a 'colour dyslexia' type thing, because I can see the difference between the two colours, but my brain associates the colour with the wrong objects, so I sometimes see the sky and grass as the same colour etc.
I have the weirdest colour blindness, courtesy of some brain damage in a lead poisoning incident I cannot see the colour green correctly - the weird thing here is that green is in the middle of the colour spectrum, the problem isnt with optics but in my brain - some shades of green wash out to grey. This is particularly weird when there is something that catches the light and parts of it are green and parts are grey. It only effects some shades, it mostly effects green although i've found some pastels hard to discern from grey before too.

It's the weirdest thing, and all happened when my brain was starved of oxygen. Before that it was fine. According to numerous race entry forms I do not have colour blindness, as it tends to panic race officials when green (the grassy bit) would appear the same as tarmac (the grey bit), actually it doesnt, except in low light and night racing where I use the texture difference to see the track. As there is no grey/green flag in racing of any consequence so it's never been a problem thankfully, but I do try to avoid getting night stints when i'm racing, and I avoid night driving out on the roads too.

So there you go, weirdo colour blind one here. I couldn't do it normally could I? Oh no... I had to have a weird one...
Quote from Becky Rose :I had to have a weird one...

I have an issue with just about all colours, but only certain shades and lighting conditions. I assume it has something to do with how my cones receive light. There's been many occasions where as my eyes change to a different lighting (as in walking indoors from outside) colours will change before my eyes (say, from blue to green, red to brown). And if my eyes are having a hard time adjusting to a changing light, it is common for an object's colour to change several times.
