Could it be possible to create some kind of API so that we can ask the InSim Relay server to reconnect to the servers?

The connection keeps dropping and I am getting quite fed up with people alerting me that the servers are no longer connected to the Remote/Relay server.

It would be a lot easier if I could just write a routine that ensures that they are connected to it every hour and request the connection to be established once again.
it tries to reconnect 10 times by default...
And how about if there's server >< server connection issues due to a dodgy router soemwhere for an hour...
an hour? no, it won't keep trying that long...
I know that it wont keep trying for that long, that is the reason why I am asking for a friggen API system. DER! dippy!
instead of calling me a dummy, have you considered getting a better server?
This is the very reason why I don't bother making any suggestions.

Every single suggestion to make life EASIER, people put the idea down because there is a long winded nasty awful way of doing it.

I don't see the point in you putting this suggestion down, at all.

It would make life a hell of a lot easier.
yes, but what if your server changes IP... should the insim relay keep hammering the old IP repeatedly? that doesn't look good on LFS or the hosting providers that house LFS' servers.

don't get me wrong, it's not that it's a bad suggestion, but i think an hour is simply too long to keep probing an IP to see if the server is still active.
I never said to keep attempting to connect to the server forever and ever.

I am asking for a way to request the relay server to reconnect, without having to open a browser myself.

SO I could do a HTTP request for instance using PHP to http://www.lfsworld.net/relaya ... 6&authkey=asoniasd884.

Try reading proeprly buddy, I never said anything about attempting to connect forever and ever.
I think its a good idea krammeh. Would save people a lot of hassle, and would check that the InSim relay is always connected.
FWIW, ours used to lose connection at least once a day, it was pretty annoying because only one person could restart it. Eventually our server provider changed to different data centre and now it loses connection, almost never.

But I always wondered why there wasn't a feature to restart relay like this.
Good idea. Manual intervention isn't a great solution to this problem, especially if only one person can re-establish the connection (which I believe is the current situation).
Good suggestion.

The way I see it there are 2 ways to have a solution. One, add an API to LFS World to check the status of a server on the relay and connect/disconnect a server to/from the relay. Two, add some settings to the dedi to establish a connection to the relay when it starts.
