Manual or Automatic Gearbox?
Okay, yesterday i saw american car wich i really started to like - cool thingy ... Ford Mustang 1994

But, it has automatic gearbox. Im not getting ready to buy it, but im a bit confused because if i ever would get myself on automatic, then i would be in trouble because i dont know all the facts. Ive driven only manual. I only know, that u gotta stop and hold brake pedal down to switch gear or something. Are there any more that kind of facts? Like, maybe rpm's must be down when u put on the first fear or something?

Also, vote - wich transmission u would prefer.

Old american with handbrake is cool.

Manual and Auto are both good, but if you wanna tow something then auto is easier (but with heavy tows and towing stuff many times they brake much earlier too).
Lmao 17:0 so far. Go manual.

Lmfao! That made my next 10 minutes Anyways, i prefer manual gearbox because i havnt used automatic yet - but its pretty intresting.
Dang, I like how everybody here seems to be manual fans...the majority of stuff here is automatic . A little piece inside me dies every time I see a muscle car or sports car with an automatic (which is horribly common here).
Manual all the way. Driven in a lot of heavy traffic and it's never crossed my mind for a second that I would prefer automatic to "change gear less", thats not an issue for me in the slightest.

I've always through auto transmission was more prone to issues and more expensive to repiar.

Mainly however it's about control. I dislike autos for the same reason I don't like ABS, I'm not in full control of the car.

I firmly believe that most Americans have generally become lazy with every thing they possibly can.

Manual ftw.
For a long time I thought that automatic gears were for elderly and/or disabled people. Now have learned that they are also for americans and lazy people.

cant see the differense between those
i hate autos (even though i own one). Half the fun of driving is changing gears, choosing gear, rev matching, etc.
I wouldn't drive an automatic if you paid me.

Unfortunately, due to personal experience, I would have to agree with you. I have to deal with such people at work and out of work every day.

Yeah, unfortunately this is true. I wanted to get a manual on my last car, which is a sports car, but they didn't even offer it. It does have that fake slap shifter thing though, which I hated at first but I use it every once and a while and once you get used to it you can get the car to do what you want the majority of the time. Still not the same as a manual though.

Sorry what? I say basically the same thing in another thread and you tell me I'm a stereotyping moron. Top marks for consistency!
