Dustin didn't get banned for pretending to be a Mac fanboy yet. The other ban was for something else, AFAIK.
I don't get you, though. Just ignore him and he will stop. But go on if you want; I won't complain. It's quite entertaining to see you getting all worked up.
The internets doesn't work like that. One person might get bored, sure, but there is always another to take his place......you need to kill the source.
You know he's a tool, I know he's a tool but there are millions yet to discover it!
A support page on Apple’s Web site recommending users purchase antivirus software for their Macs .... Apple removed the page from its Web site..... "We have removed the KnowledgeBase article because it was old and inaccurate," *. "old and inaccurate" - don't think so
Might be placebo but 3.5 feels a fair bit quicker.
and this extensions row, it literally took me about a minute to install the 4 addons i use (Adblock plus, firegestures, flash and password exporter), its not exactly a lifetime is it?
One question though, so which browser is actually the fastest?
Because when Chrome came out, they said its the fastest. Then Safari 4 came out, Apple then said its the fastest. Firefox 3.5 came out, people said its faster than Chrome. So which browser is actually the fastest? It's getting a bit confusing.
I love all these humorous messages in Firefox and Chrome.
It is not about having a different opinion. The problem is you just won't bloody shut up.
I'd say Opera is still the daddy concerning speed... It's blazingly quick (set it to immidiate page display and increase the number of connections if your bandwith can handle it and the page really is there in an instant) and it doesn't have FF's sluggishness to user input...
when most of them say "our browser is the fastest" - they mean it has the fastest javascript engine. javascript speed is very important nowadays. for example on my pc firefox has much much faster javascript engine than opera, but i found the opera to render pages faster
the best you can do is try those browsers by yourself.
im deffinately a firefox person myself. been using it since it came out. Has always served me well so im not likely to change. Infact i have not used IE in so long it takes me 5 minutes just to find where the "tools > Options" list is. then i just close it and open firefox.
On a moderation note... There has been reported posts in this thread towards Dustin. (Namely the one where he says you are full of crap).
Now as much as that is a bit out of line... To give him an infraction in this tread i would have to infract at the very least 3 other people for deliberately stirring things up in the first place.. He does the crime, he serves the time. But when you guys are just stirring things up then i cannot blame him for his actions.
Simple thing to do (and somebody said it before) Just stop / ignore it and then nobody will have anything they can react on.
In the words of comparethemeerkat.com . ... "Simples"!
from my experience with pretty much all of them based entirely on untweaked settings ie what you get right after you install it
shortest timespan to semireadable pages in front of you: ie (6) the only one i know that starts to render as soon as it has the slightest bit of data
quickest to start up: again ie... although thats only on windows systems which presumably are optimized for it (firefox can take up to 10 seconds to load from my experience and that of others)
fastest browser history: guess which... chrome and opera have improved a lot though... firefox is just abysmal in that depatment
quickest ui (switching opening and closing tabs minimising maximising etc): chrome (probably the lightweight core thread helping a lot in that department)
most of the claims which browser is the fastest are based on javascript and wheter this or that browser is an impossible to notice 10 ms faster or not
