Live for Speed requires a lot of CPU calculations for mostly the game physics.
Which is usually fine.

But when it is busy online FPS can drop to 40FPS (for me) which can only be down to the game's use of only one CPU thread.

I have a Core2Quad so LFS uses an amazing 25% of my CPU...
Most PCs ship with Dual Core now, it's very hard to find something new with a singlole core CPU.

Time to update methinks.

Thoughts?

Of course I have no idea about the clock rate on your quad core, but I run a 3.16 GHz dual core, and I've never experienced FPS drops, even on full 40+ grid servers. One of the reasons I waited with buying a quad core: basically nothing supports it yet, so I went for high clockrate. Quad core with the same clockrate was a LOT more money.
What about graphics card and RAM?
I own a ATi 4870 512MB overclocked, which can run the game easily.

And i haves 4GB RAM.

@ zeugnimod: yeahh. But this was more of what people though specifically to multithreading.
