Gfx Shadows not in other shadows
Hi guys,

I've noticed that there's a little issue shadow wise.

When driving in any car (as far as i know) and you can clearly see the shadow underneath.
Well when you go under a bridge (i.e. LFS tyre shaped bridge) there's a shadow there also.
These shadows are the same tone. So when the car drives under the bridge the cars shadow doesn't darken to compensate it. Which means your car kinda becomes shadowless and looks floaty, i could provide photo evidence if you require so but just go and check it out for yourselves.
Maybe im blind and its only me that see's it...

Yes it is like this and the devs know there is sone improvement needed regarding shadows (also including their count, which is limited to 8 now).
Scawen posted in a recent threat, that there are problems with more shadows (LFS crashing more or less randomly), so you will have to wait a while until the shadows will be improved.

cool cool, thanks. Just wondered if by a miracle no one noticed yet :P
Some more weirdness with shadows. On KY3 Pit.

You get that with most pits, and certain other structures

Yes, shadows are projected using a vector from the sun, which points to the edges of the polygons (in theory).
And each other polygon in between that is "pricked" by this vector, will be masked with a shadow map. That means even a ufo faaaar away in space will have a shadow if its between the sun and the car

That's just latest air strike technology, don't worry about it.
